Some great models arrived couple of weeks before ..........I am so happy and proud to add them

ALLGAU COW - she is just beautiful , isn't she ?- she has got lovely , expressive eyes of a typical cow . I am sure she's gonna be a great vintage stuff of my collection , in few yrs.


the PAPO HORSES

All I would say is the papo equines are uniquely sculpted in a very different style . I just fall for their robust look with sturdy legs and defined musculatures especially the heavy horses . The mere look of them really tempts me to go for more and more of other oldies .
So much of soul and life in Papo horses ....unbelievable

My most favourite of this lot is BOULONNAIS MARE - she's amazingly awesome

I agree 100 %, - the Papo horses are a dream

You can still find people who claim they are terrible
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, - as you say, the Papo horses have TONS of life and personality.
If you are looking for spindly legs and uniform look, - ok.
But like you I adore the differnece and sturdiness of Papos horses, - their heavy horses are definitely beyound compare

I love their cows, too, even if she is the same mould as the Simmental and the black-and-white ones.
My absolute favorie Papo cows are the Limousin and the Salers

As u rightly pointed out , beauty is in the eye of the beholder

and it is not that all the horse species have spindle legs and uniformity. Say the heavy horses , cold blooded and even warm blooded are sturdy , healthier , stocky and solid . I love this healthy look of any horse. As far Papo , they are stocky , solid with attractive graceful look .

if all brands look alike , with thin legs and too much graceful , then we can't differentiate the sub species of horses and ultimately , there wouldn't be any charm for us collectors .

And the Allgau cow is concerned , this sculpt perfectly fits for her more than the simmental and black&white cows . I am never bothered of the same sculpt

and a Very Special one -Yes, SPANISH FIGHTING BULL - the best ever I have seen so far . Isn't he terribly seductive

He was the first papo I ever got, and the only Papo for several years .

The ALLGAU COW is beautiful and horses are not bad too! I always find their paint job on horses is not so fine! Beside that is OK or beyond OK!

I love Papo!
It is true that the brand uses a lot the same moulds to make different figures but it is also true that you can see different poses even in a short range of figures. See the horses, in some other brands they are standing or runing as Susanne pointed, while in Papo we can enjoy the several poses possible in a figure. Also they are recognizable! The Spanish bull is a great figure too!

However I find the albino croc with violet eyes a little bit strange idea for a toy

A camera with a lot of pixels is needed to make justice for those that are still the most detailed figures among toy animal replicas. See for example all the detail with crocodile scales, number of teeth or for example the terrific texture of the lion and the artistic work with the mane. Eyes are always what keeep our atention first but they ore one more detail among many.
Also, this camel is the number 1 figure of Papo. Not perfect but I have and love it as a symbol of a fantastic line of wildlife figures.

Great animals! The one thing that kind of put me off Papo was that they used the same molds over and over. I like exciting, new stances.
