| Sorry Sergey, i came so late into this tread... I was just busy working and recovering from that! :) Ok, here i go: VEB PLaho from those pictures are: Dromedary and foal Bactrian camel and foal lying down African elephant and calf 3 Lions male adult 2 Wildboars and piglets(2) Black pony and foal 2 Furrseals male Donkey and foal Giant Anteater right on the pic Brown bears walking, 3 variations and 2 cubs 2 Seals, although one with big spots is re-painted 2 Bisons, 2 colour-variations Red deer and female Sheep Those are all for sure, if they are not copied by any other former eatern-Europe country, i can't really see into that.... The VEB Plaho figurines are not marked in any way, so that will be hard to tell, as most of them are still made by Marolin, which is a very old brand, now Germany... But of course in mint-/ and new condition, but the same moulds... then there are these animals that i couldn't give a place, but those are New Ray as you said... There is a big bison that looks like the vintage Britains bison, but i guess, that is a copy, like the bigger kangaroo and joey and little guenon-monkees... The armadillo, pangolin and aardvark were never Britains models, sop only Hong Kong. The hyena, which you call a hyena dog, is a spotted hyena, made in China. The biggest walking polarbear is a copy of the Britains vintage model. You have two panthers or something like that, because the colour is not clear. The one with the haed turning around, is a copy of a Manurba model, The other one probably Hong Kong. The green Indian rhino is Hong Kong, the grey is a little version of the Britains version. The tigers and goril'la's are unknown to me. Maybe i forgot something, but you can always ask me later on... I hoped, i helped so far... |

By the way not long ago I,ve saw VEB Plaho,s hippo and rhino for the first time (and I,ve saw it in your collection)! One more... My most first animal figurine - the big brown bear (in the centre of display) by information from your site is model by brand Fr.Fischer KG (in your site there is "black" variation). It,s model from "Indians and Cowboys " (Wild West) set. The tiger is VEB Plaho (GDR) too, but re-painted myself (I was 12 years old! ), and 2 fur seals (or sea-lions?) is VEB Plaho too... Gorillas is "made in China". I think it,s small models by Nayab (it is following from Torben,s information topic about Nayab)... :) |

| That brown bear you mentioned was produced by Fr.Fischer KG indeed for VEB Plaho in those Western-sets you mentioned. It was ment to be a black bear or baribal if you want, but was produced in the colours black, anthracite, brown, red-brown, red-brown with black paintings and white. I did recognise the Plaho tiger of course, but i ment the other tigers on the pics. When you read my answer, you see that i did recognise the furr-seals from Plaho too, of course, as i have them myself. I don't think that the gorilla's are Nayab, i have it myself, and it is more in the Schleich scale... I will put my VEB Plaho collection so far in a new tread later on then, all those i have, so that will be a nice job to do, haha. By the way Sergey, there is a catalogue, made buy a private -collector, and you can order it here: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]

| You are welcome Sergey! Susanne, you expanded your Plaho's very quickly. But the Mooses are from Marolin, although the mould was from Plaho, but they never produced them. The man who made those moulds/skulpts, was the same man which sculpted a lot of the beautifull Lineol models, and that is probably one of the reasons, that Plaho was able to use them, as they were able to buy those moulds. I see, you already found a lot of models i didn't buy or found yet, or at least not in the condition i wanted, good work! My VEB Plaho collection is in this part of the forum now too. |
