Scott I am happy that my eating cow now has some family for company, and I absolutely love my peacock! It is just sooooo detailed and pretty and colorful.

All your new arrivals are real real treasures , I tell you . You can't expect that quality in the new Schleichs .

Thank you so much guys, I have to say though, between the remarkable detail of the rhino and just the pure artistry of the cape buffalo, I can't choose a favorite! (and this is NOT a bad thing!)

I love the Puma and the Great White Shark! awesome! Did you get them online (sent to you) or were you able to find them in a store? I've thought about driving to the next state to find a Hobby Lobby and purchase the Puma, but I just don't have the time.

Here is my new safari turkey I got today! He has great painting, you cant see in the pics, but he has a green sheen to his black feathers. He met his Schleich pal today too.

Very nice Paige, I don't collect farm animals but I have the Safari turkey on my collection. It is very beautiful!

Roger why do you keep calling the turkey a farm animal? I wish you could see the wild turkeys we have around here. They are beautiful! But too shy to let me have a chance to photo them.

Well, I have never seen a wild turkey before, only Googling!
But, as I received my turkey from you and those you have here are wild, so my turkey is surely a wild one!
Safari also have the figure on farm series.

Thanks guys . I can see the turkey being both a farm animal and a wild animal, but for some reason most brands list it as a farm animal, whereas if I was the owner of my own brand ( ) I would list it in the wild section with things like grouse, pheasants, doves/pigeons, etc.

I love that Safari Turkey! Great addition Paige! The Safari and the Schleich make a really nice set.

I like them together too, I really like to see how different companies see these animals. For instance the safari turkey is more colorful, and has his neck pulled in, where as the schleich one is more black, and has his neck outstretched more. The best comparisons in my opinion are of the cape buffalo from all the brands ( I do not have the collectA one yet though, he is the last to the party but hopefully soon), all the different interpretations of the African Cape Buffalo is so widespread, the papo is big and covered in muscle, the safari, is the tallest, the schleich one is really fat (not a bad thing in my opinion), and the mojo is the most docile looking while he is still barrell shaped and his walking pose just helps to show the long, barrell, and muscled belly. All of these models are fantastic, and show how diversity in a species as hugely varied. SOme may say that the Schleich is the worst out of them, but like I said there is diversity among species, and I like my chubby buffalo. I just wish that someone would make a few calves for them as well (and for other animal models as well i.e. the antelope, crocs, rhinos, and some others.) Before I go off my rant, does it seem like they almost never make calves for bovine related wild animals? No yak, european bison, one american bison, one cape buffalo, no water buffalo (no adult either) etc. Ok, I'm done running my mouth now. (sorry )

More calves would be nice. Especially when calves aren't just miniature versions of the adults.

I really love the Schleich Cape Buffalo. Honestly, it's my favorite of all that I've seen. I find it mesmerizingly lovely. There aren't any African Cape Buffalos that I don't like (although I have mixed feelings about the "extras" on the Safari--the bird and grass in the mouth).

What I desperately want is for one of "the big five" companies to make an Asian Water Buffalo. As you say, Paige, there isn't even an adult out there. This may be number 1 on my list of animals I'd like to see released.

The SAFARI Ltd Turkey is on my wish list, this model is really fantastic and it is a wild specie for me, mostly because I don't collect Farm animals

About cape buffaloes, I love also the last SCHLEICH one, it is a very peaceful animal and very finely made. I love all the modern cape buffalo I have and the SAFARI ltd have a very special place for me, I really like the birds and grass, even crudely painted IMHO it is an excellent idea.
My herd is waiting for the MOJÖ now, I hope it won't be too long.

You'll see another completely interpretation of cape buffalos when you receive the CollectA!
None of them is a bad figure, Schleich included, I only don't like its simple sculpting and lack of expressivity, he is chubby but not muscled what is very strange for an adulte male cape buffalo. But a very good figure and very recomendable.
The Papo is an exageration and as usual has a lot of mistakes. But also, as usual, I love it a lot! Schleich did a great work with the baby, like Scott commented, it is nice when they are not replicas of adulte animals with extra cuteness. It is much more interesting when brands try to give them their real look. It is nice to see that Schleich gave it the reddish color and made a much better work then with big cat babies.

Congratulations Paige for the 2 Turkey gems. Yes, they are absolutely fabulous and must have figurines .
