Sweet splurge! That bison proper murder weapon grade huge.. And the Komodo dragon huger still, if scale is accounted for. The Jack Russell's paws might be the next big thing in working terriers, no? Just imagine the speed they'd paddle after the poor possum fleeing for its life. Maybe not. Sweet additions, in any case!

Ohh, I really can imagine how happy you are right now, Paige! What a nice herd of new ones... They all looks nice to me= )

Thank you everyone! Yes, the sizes for Papo fluctuate to a point where it almost doesn't make sense. The ducks I have now are practically as big as that little puma.   Anyways, when the weather stops being so ridiculous (snow... in april! I hate it!) then I will try to get better lighted photos so my camera can stop sabotaging them.

Fantastic Papos   When Papo are doing well, they do REALLY well   

As you know I love Papo figures, although I know some of their earlier versions are not good at all.
For example, that hippo and chamois are two figures clearly above the average quality of major brands. I also don't think that they manage with sizes as illusively well as Schleich but I like that their hippo is much bigger than Schleich ones.

And a good story behind, - all the happy pets and their happy owners, who you helped...probably also some nice time for you ...and then the result : All these beautyful models   

Thank you everyone! Yes, Susanne, there are some great stories there. I watched a dog and two surly cats at one home, and then I took care of two dogs, 5 horses and an assortment of chickens and ducks at another. The first house was a super friendly Labrador named Jack and the two cats were typical shorthairs named Rufus and Eddie (short for Edward) and the other home was chocolate Labrador named Chewie, a shorthair pointer named Doc, and the only horse names I can remember are Gerry, April, Josie, and Lily, the fowl weren't named as far as I know. They were all fun to take care of, except the chickens. If I'm honest, I'm a little afraid of most chickens due to a bad childhood experience, and these hens were BIG.   Plus they peed on their eggs one day and I still had to gather then so they didn't attract scavengers.  

Anyways, all I cared about was I finally got some spending money to get a few models I'd been looking for and I shortened my Papo catch up list in half.   

I certainly understand that chickens can scare a child, esp roosters !

A couple of years ago I looked after some poultry for some neigbours, and there was a golden pheasant, which attacked me every time I had to enter the pen ! He seemed to be everywhere, fluttering and clawing at me  

  I do not think the hens peed on the eggs. As far as I remember, birds do not pee. They only have one "hole"   
But the eggs are wet for a little while after the hen has layed them. When the liquid dries up, it makes a semiprotective film, so bacteria do not enter the egg, but oxygene can reach the chicken   

Therefore we must not wash eggs, they turn bad very fast then.

Ha, your experience was as bad as mine. When I child (maybe 5 or 6) my grandma had a few hens. We would go into her chicken coop and collect eggs and I remember one (HUGE! though I was very little at that age   ) big black hen was sitting on a horizontal pole inside the coop, and when I entered she swooped down on me and began to scratch me and she seemed to be everywhere at once too due to her gigantic size. That hen probably weighed more than me at the time.   Anyways, so today I like very few chickens unless they are of the plastic variety!  
And thanks for the egg lesson, I didn't know eggs had a protective film.

The young hippo is so cute!

Here are my newbies. I love the bears (despite the older cubs slightly teddy appearance) and I just wish the mom was a little more shaded and not so dark. THe turtle is amazing, my best so far, and the baby bunnies and kittens are only ok, but I got them for Easter so they will stay for now. Enjoy.
