Actually, according to the text, the darker one (left) is male and the one on the right is female.

My dictionary says only albatross, but when I searched it in Wikipedia, it came up with Short-tailed Albatross or Steller's Albatross (Phoebastria albatrus).

@Andreas: yes, it's an Iguana iguana. and an additional colour variation of that species.
The japanese otter is intersting, but to me, the best Elaphe quadrivirgata figurine to date is the hottest!
