Alvin's collection Empty
PostSubject: Alvin's collection   Alvin's collection EmptyDecember 11th 2012, 11:50

Hi all, just to share what animals I currently have on my shelves. It is only a tiny fraction compared to the amazing collections of everyone here.

Here's where I put them.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Some of these toys are previously on a different shelf at my parents' home before I moved them on to the new ones.

My dino collection, all Collecta except for one Schleich...

Thanks for viewing :)

Lovely collection and so nicely displayed! You have many rare ones, beautiful turtles and tortoises (I love Alligator snapping turtle figure) and wonderful repaints cheers Congratulations and thank You for sharing! cheers

I think I've seen this gemsbok, it's repainted by You but what brand? Is it available figure or retired/old one? :)

Many thanks for the comments Anna and Kristie! Really appreciate it! :)

Anna, the brand of the gemsbok is Nine Products based on what info I've retrieved by digging online. I bought it as a pack with the Baboon, Kudu, Flamingo, Ostrich and few other assorted animals. I have no idea about the origin of the pack as I bought it in a local toy store filled with other China-made animals, but the label has Japanese written all over. I suspect the gemsbok along with the others is a remold of the original Nine Products version, as the finished items were poorly sculpted and with limbs warped beyond rescue. The only animals worth salvaging are the gemsbok, flamingo, baboon, kudu, ostrich and a squirrel. I gave the rest away to my nephew who is still too young to collect figures but well, at least give him a start on learning about animals Very Happy

Thank you everyone for the kind comments! sunny sunny

Christophe: I am still looking for the Kitan Animals of Africa series, missed the boat on that one during the group purchase here where I live Razz

Susanne: These birds are carved out of albesia wood, they were crafted/painted by a great Balinese artist in Ubud. He has produced a lot of bird species in the past but when I got to learn of them many had already been sold out! Sad

Andreas: The birds are taking up a lot of space on the shelves too, will find another place to display them if (hopefully) new figures keep coming in the future! What a Face

pm64: The brand of the ally snapper is 4D Fame Master Puzzle or something like that, I got it from another local collector with the Galapagos tortoise. Very Happy

weaselfan93: The brand is supposedly Nine Products but it may be a remake, I'm not too sure. scratch Anyone knows?

Alvaro: Yes, but not colourful enough. I have lousy taste in colouring especially when it comes to dinos Suspect

Harriet: Thanks! Very Happy I may be viewing a new batch of birds soon from the artist. Will keep posted on the photos when I see them yea!

Tyrantqueen: Yeah I repainted it, I got it second hand with scratches and warped beak, which thank goodness I managed to fix with a hair dryer What a Face

Tylo: Yep I will put up a 'walkabout' pic sometime later, I still think the colours are somewhat dull No

Thanks man! Added you already Cool

I actually repainted it twice before I stopped at this one. The previous one was a bit too colourful so I thought I'd settle for a museum specimen colouration, if you get what I mean... Razz
