| I have Safari Ltd Pronghorn but this one is so much better for me - paint work, size, proportions, pose, I just have to get it... _________________ Robert

| Hi Bojan Just to explain a little about the thin legs problem. Actually Scott is spot on in respect of the material used. You will see much thinner legs on Breyer's for example as they use a type of plastic called ABS, this plastic has a smooth surface but is hard and almost impossible to bend (you will also note it never has a textured surface). This allows Breyer and others to mould an animal with much thinner legs due to the materials strength. If you look at our animals and that of the other makers, Papo, Schleich,Safari etc, they use a type of plastic called Non Phthalate PVC. This type of plastic is far superior if you want more details, texture etc. However it is a softer material and can be bent fairly easily. When you have an animal like the pronghorn, obviously the main weight of the animal is in the body, therefore the legs have to be strong enough to hold that weight without splaying outwards. Otherwise you will have a serious problem with the animal not standing and generally deforming. We have to balance the body with the leg thickness hence why you almost never see Antelope for example with very thin legs. I hope that explains it clearly? Oh and i love your post about How many Mojo's do you have, great captions too, very funny! Egbert |

| Thank you J...Egbert! About thin legs, horns (horns -if they're too thin they bend, like mine Safari Arabian Oryx),... I understood that before, I only thought there is some rule about safety (that children wouldn't poke their eyes out with some plastic animal's thin parts). _________________ Bojan

This was the bane of my existence for so long...trying to get those arabian oryx horns to look right and not shoot out in all directions. Drove me crazy. I finally just bought another copy of the model. The extra expense was completely worth the peace of mind. |

| As I promised i painted also the first version of Mojo pronghorn and so You can see the picture. Unfortunatelly legs were too thin and if they bend the stability problem would be very big in this kind of pose New topic with more photos of this figure and not only is HERE _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| Thanks Ana, that is very interesting and exciting! As you commented, it is great that all members and collectors can follow some backstage informations of the development of a figure. I remember that the same happned with the painted dog, due to its pose Mojo needed to make it with somewhat thick legs. |

| The 'uplifted hoof' pose is somewhat similar to the female sable antelope from Collecta but where she slants a little to the side (as if starting off a sprint) the pronghorn looks stably upright. Nevertheless all said and done I love the pose! (o)): |

| I have only dimensions of my version of pronghorn but Mojo one will be somewhat bigger. I think the size will be similar to Safariltd one :) _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| As far as I could check from Mojö Fun 2019 catalogue, this figure was discontinued. After the wonderful wolverine last year, it is the proghorn who is abandoning us. |

That's the reason I decided to give the information. If someone gets interested in a Mojö Fun pronghorn, it is time to hurry up once the brand is not widely available. I believe MiniZoo still has it. You can check it here. I also don't have the figure once when it was released, I already had the Safari version. About Anna's version, that is indisputably better, I think it is also not available but try to send a private message to her. |
