Yes I definitely agree! But for an unknown figure, I think this was done pretty well! |

| Hi! Very nice birds of prey you all have! I'm currently trying to expand this part of my collection. Today I proudly received my ever first Signatus model, the black vulture (Aegypus monachus). It's brilliant, I should upload a picture but it's better to wait for natural light, maybe tomorrow.
I want your opinion on the next figures, and if you could attach some photos I would be veeeery grateful.
- Northern goshawk: I'm in love with this species so I need a figure. For me the best is the old Colorata, but is not available anymore. The eikoh is "easy" to find but I don't like it very much. So, I think I will go for the Kaiyodo ChocoQ. However, I'm worried about the junctures, they seem quite noticeable... (I don't have any ChocoQ already).
- Golden eagle: another must have species for me. The best, ofc is the Kaiyodo Natural Monuments of Japan, but it's unaffordable for me. The new Colorata is also good, but I cannot find it separately from the set, so I think I will go for the Eikoh. Again, I'm worried about the junctures.
- Egyptian vulture: I can get the one from Eikoh, but... meh, the figure is not specially appealing for me. May I change opinion?
- Crested serpent eagle: the one from Kaiyodo ChocoQ is easy to find. And the junctures seem discreet in this one.
- Common Kestrel: I can get the female from Kaiyodo ChocoQ, but I think it is huge.
- Harpy eagle: the Colorata is the best for me but, again, It's not sold separately (anyone interested in buying the set with me, please PM). So I think I will go for the Safari Ltd, even though it seems quite simplistic in my opinion. I may repaint the head to give a little more detail.
So, what are your thoughs in this models??
PS: the Colorata Philippine eagle is another must have, but impossible to find. The same for the Safari Ltd California condor... |

| I look forward to see your new Signatus model But I don't know the others you mention, as I have very few Japanese models ( Have to make a limit somewhere ) I don't think Eikoh made a neither a goshawk nor a golden eagle |

| Northern goshawk: I'm think both the Kaiyodo ChocoQ figures are excellent (best on the market today), but male and female birds are the same size (only the paint is different). I agree the Epoch one is very simplified.
Golden eagle: Very common bird, the Shogakukan NMOJ flying one is probably the best, but the sitting one from Kaiyodo mountain set is good too. The old Schleich is large but acceptable for me as I decided to ignore scale. The flying Colorata is good too but slightly simple.
Egyptian vulture: AFAIK the Epoch figure is the only of its kind (species) - otherwise I think this figure is very good!
Crested serpent eagle: We have one flying and two (light and dark) sitting from Kaiyodo and one from Epoch. The paint of Kaiyodo figures is better, these figures are smaller than the Epoch one.
Common Kestrel: My first couple of birds from Kaiyodo, simply excellent. Far better (more realistic) than PlayVisions or NewRay one. These two figures (kestrel male+female) started my decision to collect Kaiyodos :)
Harpy eagle: The Colorata is the best not only for you :) Safari Ltd is good but has quite simplistic paint...
Colorata Philippine eagle is from the older Raptors set only, hard to find as standalone figure. The KM Philippine eagle is too toyish.
Safari Ltd California condor (flying one) is not easy to find today but Kaiyodo Red Data sitting California Condor is good enough too. |

| Before buying the entire Colorata raptors set, I've found often the Colorata harpy eagle (my favourite piece of the set) for sale alone in eBay, in case you don't want to buy the entire set. _________________ My collection:- (Details):

| I agree with Jarda, however for the northern goshawk, don't forget the secret Furuta figure standing on a branch with its wings open (that's the one I have). |

| I agree with Jarda's advise. About the Epoch raptor set, some are just so so, I had the set and now I only keep the Egyptian eagle and the Steller's sea eagle, they are both must have. About Kaiyodo, though there is some exceptions, don't worry about the junctures they are not so visible in real life. Beware of the Kaiyodo Common kestrels, both are very dangerous virus, you catch once and your Japanese stuff addiction begin... I bought my first Kaiyodo and Yujin 17 years ago and I never recover. About Northern goshawk, Furuta made a rare one ( I lost mine ) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]About Californian condors, I've got the Safari Ltd and the Kaiyodo, when I began to reduce my collection I let the Safari Ltd go, it is great but I prefer the Kaiyodo which is easier to show on shelf. If I would have to choose a Golden eagle, I would go for the Kaiyodo cQM one. The Natural monument is excellent but very expensive nowadays. About the Signatus Cinereous vulture, could you make a walkaround please ?

| Thanks everyone!
So, I will give a chance to the egyptian vulture. For the goshawk, the Furuta is great but not available on eBay, so I will get the Kaiyodo chocoQ. The same for the crested serpent. Finally, the krestels are not so big?? I will wait to see if the Colorara harpy eagle appears sometime. And, ok, I will make a walkaround for the vulture tomorrow!
Thanks everyone! |

Thanks everyone! I absolutly agree with Jarda. But your first sentence i think its wrong Not you give a chance- you have a chance to get that. That egyptian vulture is the only figur of that specie and in my opnion really beautieful. I am very happy to own that figure. |
