1:22 addax by Joan

Hello friends,

I've just finished the first copy of an addax I've been working last month. This one with the brown winter coat

Will be the first one of a serie of 5 antelopes I will finish in next months.

One of the most desirable animal figures in a while to complete the North African desert wildlife. Perfect coloring and beautiful posture in motion.

It is interesting that we share the same web space so we almost think like a family. If I was a top sculptor like you an addax would be my choice, the same happened with the obvious mountain tapirs missing, now for a bull I think a water buffalo is the STS family wish!
Your work is obviously fantastic. I love the expression you was able to get that helps turning the figure very natural.

The addax is an excellent choice and you deserve it very well. Addax is a beautiful antelope with so impressive capacities.

First I thought the neck was a bit too low and too long, so I googled a bit and I saw a lot of pics of your model in real life Congratulation ! And the horns are absolutely stunning. I wish you and other STS artists will make a tuto to explain how you make such horns.

I hope I will find enough money to add your new creature on my shelf Joan

About horns, I can say it was not easy, I made more than 20 horns for side (left or right one) to find the right ones :S And that's not all, moulding them has been an odyssey

I haven't announced before because nobody asked me (except by PM, another collector was faster and he have the info).
I'm just finishing the sculpting of a running topi. The other 3 models will be an scimitar oryx (yes, I know, it's the collecta one, but I will make one also); a sitatunga and a hartebeest.
