| Thank you Aandmkw And thank you Roger, yes, you were right with your predictions for my collection The sweet Andalusian mare (Made in Portugal ) has become one of my most beloved models since she entered my collection in early January this year. That's a very neat Appy photo there, also proving how cutified the new Schleich one is. I never got the ol' Schleich one, but I do have an interest in the Mojo Appy. I'm as well very happy with Ana's Fjord, because it looks like a horse as it is, and not idealized and cuti/beautified. It's an "everyday person" and not a "supermodel" as I see it. Maybe other Mojos have that quality as well. Unlike some of the new CollectA horses that Susanne has recently shown us, they are walking the horse catwalk indeed... Nothing wrong in that, it's just good to be down to earth sometimes as well, I think. |

| Congratulations on your new models, you're a fast buyer! I like the Appaloosa and the baby Hippo, but I can't even look at the Lipizzaner Mare (or Haflinger Mare or Shire Mare). Schleich saved me some money for other brands this year! (o)): _________________ Bojan

Of course it is, also the Andalusian mare, although somewhat criticized due to her by some horse experts, has a much more acceptable design for me than the Princess. That is the point where Schleich always worked in terms of design. Giving a feminine or cute touch without removing the feeling of a realistic toy. You know I don't feel the same with Princess but it is useless to keep saying bad things to the poor girl. I agree that Ana and Deborah are making a good work but I am very happy that Ana is working on Wildlife, that is my collection subject. :) I enjoy following collections that are not all the same. Kristie has the most charismatic figures, with the laughing zebra, Papo crazy camel, Elvis the singing piglet and among them a masterpiece called Papothamus. It makes her collection very unique and beautiful. The same for your collection and all those with a personal touch. |

| After lots of research I ordered a new bunch of wishlist-models from MPV I really would always prefer to see them and investigate before buying, but still, Schleich seems to be the only brand in my local stores. And even a good research about the figures, both her on STS and the world wide web, there'll be good and bad surprises, it seems. Here you go, all from MPV except the Schleich Skunk. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The 2013 CollectA Clydesdale Stallion. I'm slightly dissapointed with this model. Maybe my expectations were too high. He still suffers from the pear-shaped body(seen from above), that seems to be part of all Deborahs sculpts. Then I wonder, do horses have pear-shaped bodies?? I've never seen one from helicopter view IRL. There are some places where the paint deosn't cover him fully on the feathering on the legs, which annoys me a bit. Like my CollectA Shire Mare isn't completely in touch with the ground, the stallion isn't either, as you can see. He is nice, but doesn't beat Shire Mare, I think. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]One thing that bothers me, is his extremely narrow face, as you can see here compared with the Shire... I wonder if that's normal for Clydesdales, or is it a flaw in the sculpt? Some of you horse experts may know? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The 2010 CollectA Appaloosa Stallion - though he really is a gelding, if you dare look at his private parts. This is a VERY lovely model, I think. He has become an instant favorite in my collection. Look at those eyes! So much life and personality Also, he is a very humble horse, I think, compared with many of the other Deborah sculpts, that seem very 'Breyer' "flashy" like. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And the Mojo Chestnut Appaloosa Stallion He is also a very humble guy. He's your everyday horse Here with the 2013 Schleich Appy. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Papo Brown Bear Now the little naughty cub found his mother. No more monkeybusiness for you lil' one! I bet the rest of my collection will be very happy for that (What annoys me with both these models is, that their surface and colour doesn't match.. Might not be easy to see in the photo). [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And Mojo American Black Bear. A gorgeus model [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then Princess got two new friends. I can already hear them giggle with their girltalk ..Now to the serious part.. The 2011 CollectA Arabian Mare is a wonderful sculpt, with lots of life and character.. but paintjob is awful, compared with my other CollectAs. I wish she had the surface and paint like Princess. Her biggest minus though, has to be the material, which is very soft (unlike the 2010-12-13 horses of mine, they're almost the quality of Schleich hard plastic). I wonder why CollectA made their 2011 horses that soft.. it's horrible! At least in my opinion. She seems to get dirty very easily, because of the very rubbery material. I did know about the softer material, but I'm surprised it's THAT bad The better one is the 2013 CollectA Akhal-Teke Mare Great girl with lots of character too, and movement. I really like her shiny coat, which makes her very outstanding, but still fits with the rest. (There was once a My Little Pony I never got as a kid, but wanted, which had same colour and shiny surface.. now I got her, and she's grown up). She deosn't have the typical slim body of an Akhal-Teke though (according to my research), which I find a bit odd. She looks more like a mix... Or just a fat Teke, you can't even see her ribs.. Still why didn't Deborah make a pure Teke? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then the 2010 CollectA Hanoverian Stallion He is absolutely fantastic. Maybe the best horse in my collection Here with his Appaloosa friend. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Such wonderful WONDERFUL faces. I'm melting [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Schleich Skunk was actually a gift for my boyfriend [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]And at last Science and Nature Enchidna. Simply because I find these creatures ADORABLE [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| Fantastic additions and great pictures. Also very entertaining to read your post. The first thing I have to comment is that I agree completely with you, I would love these CollectA horses were manufactured with the same quality of Schleich horses. My lack of empathy with most of Schleich horses are related with their toyish design and not with their quality as toys. An excelent example is your Arabian mare, I love this sculpting. She is also very feminine but in a sensual way. I don't know if the movement is somewhat exagerated but I love it from the angle you're showing. But, when I touched it on shop, I disliked the rubber touch and also painting. But we are never completely happy. For example, I wished Mojo Appalosa was not so matte as it is, however I think the matte finish results superb on black bear. I find many collectors on forum that love appaloosas, I am not an enthusiast of it. I believe people love their patterns and maybe the visible white sclera helps people loving them. Though, their most common conformation, visible on Mojo and old retired Schleich, make them not appealing horses at all. Not sculptors fault, they made the best to make a good approach, but my total fault of enthusiasm with that breed. The CollectA Appi looks very tall like some old Appaloosas and it results more atractive to me. To finish my long and boring comment. I would love to comment the standing pose of the CollectA Hanoverian, it is standing like Princess and many other horses, but while in Princess the expression is all focused on face, Hanoverian has expression on all body, loading of life a figure that is only standing. Very beautiful! |

| Roger, your comment is not boring at all. It's very interesting to read your views I didn't know that a visible sclera was a typical thing for Appaloosas. I must study more horses New Schleich doesn't live up to that then. And I agree with your observation in the Hanoverian. Deborah did very well here. Also with the pose of the Arabian, yes very sensual, and ladylike. Maybe a little 'show'/'look at me' kind of way. |

| Congratulations for wonderful newcomers Carola! It's very interesting to read Your comments and to see Your choices I think You choose super nice figures again. I'm in love in this Akhal Teke, must have it haha, so shiny thing About Arabian mare, I agree with both of You. I seen this model in toy shop and somehow couldn't decide to buy it, even if on photos it looked very nice. It's figure but material is quite annoying. About Mojo Appaloosa, I'm glad You like him, I think I would be happier if he had more defined spots and maybe less matt finish too. But I'm happy You like his "everyday horse" look, that's what I tried to reach sculpting this horse Congrats again and thank You for sharing! _________________ Anna Horse and Bird studio - Horse sculptures My model horse collection

| Ana, your appy is very sweet and I'm happy to have welcomed him into my collection. He is, together with Izzy, I'd say, humble horses. They look like those I'll meet during a walk in the local areas. I think that's very great quality. They're 'real' horses, not only 'dream' horses. |

| Hi all Finally MPV got their stock updated [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Papo Oryx! And what is an antilope doing in my collection? I just think it's such a beauty. Unique markings and powerful. I assume this is a she. Maybe a bit too much shine in her coat, for my taste, but what a lovely animal nevetheless [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then Papo Tigress with cub! When I received her and took her out of the package is was just jaw drop! My other Papo big cats greet her and the lil' one warmly. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The paintjob is very good I think. And those eyes are fantastic. Very expressive. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]The cub is adorable. Think, she'll grow up into such a big magnificant and dangerous creature. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Collecta Friesier Stallion... well, like the Appaloosa, he's not a stallion, just pretending obviously. He's very gorgeous. Something very sweet and calm about him. He looks like a legend. Very lovely model, and the material is nice and hard like the other Collecta 2010 horses. Only thing, again, is his pearshaped body, seen from above. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then, I got a neat bridle for my beloved and also infamous Princess Hopefully I'll be able to control her a bit more now.. or maybe things will go totally out of hand! At least I found a pink one for her. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]At last, our Number One Prince Charming: CollectA Fjord Stallion! Girls are going crazy in the cabinet! He is nice, very nice! Maybe a bit too much Disney. Ana's Izzy looks way more down to the ground. Her paintjob is nicer too. But I couldn't resist that charm anyway! Now I have two Fjords in my collection. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] |

| What a lovely newcomers Carola And with very interesting comments, it's so nice to read Your opinion about each of them. I also adore Papo tigress and got her recently, and as You described "jaw drop"-yes that was the feeling, it's outstanding model Powerful animal with such delicacy for the newborn, ohhh I also like Friesian standing next to Akhal Teke, they look good together Congratulations, great lot! | It is really interesting the way you present your additions. Very interesting to read and watch with great pictures. We can also drink your collector personality. The Papo tigress with cub, as well the lioness, are those kind of figures that knock me out. It is curious that I like best your oryx than mine, mine has horns completely bent. The accessory of your Princess is perfect for her. I like very much this Friesian, maybe because it is closer to a Sports horse than a baroque type as someone explained here. The Fjord is closer to a character than a horse but he is really charming and atractive. Congratulations and thanks for your nice presentations! |

| Thank you Susanne, Widukind, Álvaro Harriet, thank you, yes, as mentioned, the narrow face of the Clydelsdale really pulls him down, as the rest of him is very neat. Only thing now is just I wonder if such a narrow face is possible for such a horse? Thank you Anna, tigress indeed shows the contrast of nature Roger, thank you Well my Oryx has a slightly bend right horn. Might be difficult to see in the photos. Quite a shame. Maybe it ca. Be fixed with the warm water method I've heard about here? By the way, got to correct one thing! It's a halter - not a bridle ofcourse |
