| The Green Woodpecker is my favourite of all woodpeckers. I love the bright colours. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

| Woooooow. Harriet wonderful work of art. The technique, which he did and for how long. This question Ali. We look forward to more of your work. There will be a powerful inspiration for my girls. Have not yet encountered such a woodpecker in the wild. |

Thank you Zbyszek and Ala! I have never seen one in real life either, I would love to though. This is painted with watercolour and it took me about a day to do :) |

| Ohhhhh, how i envy (in the good way ) you for your talents !!!! It is wonderful. I love the woodpeckers. Each winter theu come and eat the fat I put out for the birds, but it is always the little black-white-red one, what is it`s name in english ? They are so much fun to watch, they run round the trunk of the tree: Now they are here- now they are gone |

I love watching woodpeckers too. I guess the one that visits you would be the Great Spotted Woodpecker, Susanne, that's the one we get too, but it could be a Lesser Spotted, we don't get that one. We should get the Green woodpecker, but I've never seen one here. I'd really love to see one of them. |

| I just checked the dictionary, - yes it is the great spotted Woodpecker. Once I saw 4 at a time In the nearby village I once sav the black Woodpecker. It was hammering away at an old apple tree. Me oh my, it really is big - of course not compared to many other birds, but compared to the ones I am used to. Birds are WONDERFUL !!! |
