Harriet, I bought the models in the toy store which I trust in my hometown. The dealer would soon take Papo in his online store :) .

Thank you for showing these new Papos Grizzly has been one on the hypewave - but could he manage? I must say, I have to get used to the actual look of him. At second and third glance and some bear research... This is a great sculpt!

When CollectA sent me some new 2013 figurines, Roger said he was a little jealous.
Now it's my turn to be a little jealous with you Ralf. You're so fast! I only have the polar bear so far.
And I'm still looking for CollectA king cheetah.
I can't wait to get Papo Indian rhinos, gibbon, and grizzly bear.
But the color of the bear is a bit somehow different from the pic in the catalog. But it's still nice, I think.

Donny is right, the painting is a bit different but I can't resist to teh fantastic sculpture

It is one of the best Grizzly I seen. It should awarded best in 2013 IMO.

It always amazes me how much a standing upright bear looks like a human being.

Hmm,... i think it's difficult to explain my problem with the figurine, but there's something odd.

This is exactly the problem that I have with Schleich's most recent Standing Grizzly Bear. I think the Schleich is much worse than the Papo in this respect.

I agree the Schleich one looks a little like a teddy bear, but then again, I don't think it is supposed to be an adult, more like a two or three year old. I like the Papo bear, only thing is his arms are a little far from his body, which I think is making the "yeti-affect". Only other thing is I wouldn't have made his neck ruff so big, but I don't think it makes it a bad figure.

I've nothing intelligent to contribute, just: I can't get over how much more appealing the girl on the left in the human comparison pic is to me in comparison to the touched up one. The left one is downright beautiful to me!

Funny, overall the things PeGe mentions as detracting of his opinion of the Papo grizzly are the exact qualities that make the model so appealing to me. (Well, that and the technically good sculpting.) Bears, especially when skinned and hung, do bear a striking resemblance to people physically. In the old days one of the many euphemistic/honorific expressions for the bear that Finnish people used translates roughly to "the old man of the forest". I believe similar expressions are quite common in other languages, too, presumably just because of that physical likeness.

I still think the PAPO grizzly is looking more like the first pics
