| Oh, so nice that Dave commented about this topic, this is so beautiful! Congratulations Taylor! In the region where I was born, these carts are still common but we often saw them pulled by mules and donkeys. Surely smaller, not smaller than the toy, of course. It would be fascinating to see it pulled by a Shire horse! |

It let me think about some Clairet carts pics I have. You can see them HERE Britains Tumbrel Cart had a very long production run indeed: 1922 to 1973, apart from no toys made during WW2, 1940-45. Plus it had a brief come-back 1983-84 There were a few very slight changes during this period, plus colours changed, for most of the period with more than one colour choice at a time, then it comes down to exactly which shade of blue or green (the 2 main colours) was used when it comes to guessing the date of one of these carts. Types and colours of horses changed over the years, as did the boxes they came in. |
