You're welcome! They are hard to tell. Northern always have a conspicuous dark vest and if it has no vest or a faded vest, it is a Southern. Though, the problem is that many populations of the Southern species are heavily vested like the Northern ones and companies favour this pattern once it turns the animal more appealing. As they are also often only marketed as tamandua, you can use them as you wish.
