It is a Southern tamandua. Nobody does the poor Northern tamandua, maybe just because some specimens are virtually identical to the Southern ones. thanks; for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to separate them. |

You're welcome! They are hard to tell. Northern always have a conspicuous dark vest and if it has no vest or a faded vest, it is a Southern. Though, the problem is that many populations of the Southern species are heavily vested like the Northern ones and companies favour this pattern once it turns the animal more appealing. As they are also often only marketed as tamandua, you can use them as you wish. |
