I was in my local stores yesterday (AC Moore's) and they have the new 2013 models on their shelves. I saw the large Wildlife Wonders cheetah and was a little disappointed. I have always thought Safari does not paint as detailed as some of the other brands. However, I still like their new Wildebeests and Elk. Very impressive. But the cheetah was a very light yellow and the spots were completely in a row, vs. being painted in a non-organized way. That was at least my thought. Anyone else see the cheetah yet?
I have been to few local Michael's stores and didn't see the new Wildlife Wonders cheetah, but some items were marked clearance and I haven't been back yet to see what new items they have. Even though I'm only a sealife collector, I did notice when Safari announced the 2013 releases that the cheetah was very light in color and the spots were perfectly aligned rather than random. I was thinking maybe it was just how the picture was taken, but now that you saw it at AC Moore's, I thought maybe it was a bad shipment that they got. If you watch this YouTube video, it looks like that's how it's supposed to be painted:

I also agree with Orca girl, I wasn't impressed at all with catalogue picture. It seemed very artifitial and our expectations about Wildlife Wonders are always high. :) I think someone has posted it already but I cannot find.
The regular ostrich? I need to find one now! Could you guys find out what is being discontinued and post them here? Thanks.

Yes the regular ostrich...I only knew that was being discontinued because it was on a shelf that read "Safari Items being Discontinued: $2" I forget what else was on that particular shelf but there was not much. I ended up getting two Ostriches. If you want one and cannot find one let me know. I have no idea if there is a list of Safari items being discontinued. I wonder if that means a new ostrich is coming out????
