The Mojo 387173 Sun Bear: A walkaround by Kikimalou

At last the Mojo Sun bear is at home and it is a very very good surprise. I thought and said here that this fellow was an interesting citizen and that I love the rare sitting pose. I was also happy that this model was a Mojo because it is my favourite brand for black painted figurines.

Yes it is a very good surprise, I forget how nicely made is this model: The natural pose, the colors and the details like the texture and skin folds, everything is helping to make a very serious model.

In the world of toy, Sun bears are rare, not as much as Sloth or Spectacled bears though. In the past, a few brands like Lineol, Starlux, Playvisions and Colorata made one.

Now, let's watch some pics of the smallest of the world’s living bear species.

Yes I know... I always asked myself why dust is dark on white models and light on black ones

In your pictures we see details that can easily be overlooked when it sits on the shelf, - the cute behind, the ironic smile, - and yes ! even the smallest speck of dust

It was a brave decision from Mojö making that unusual bear species before releasing the same group of bears that all brands make. I like very much this figure and I also have it. I hope that some brand makes a sloth bear or a spectacled bear as you suggested. Thanks for walk around.

Unusual species, nice pose, nice sculpt and painting, this Sun bear didn't steal it's place in the STS 2014 wildlife figure of the year poll

And, as Rogério said, I would be very happy if someone have the good idea to produce a sloth bear and a spectacled bear

Beautiful Sun bear Kiki ! Mojo has impressed with lots of diff species which is so impressive of them ( I look forward to the Indian bear /Sloth Bear , another beautiful one that )

I agree Jean-Luc, the tongue is missing but it would be odd in this position.

A sloth bear would be very welcome James, this is a very rare citizen in the Toy world.

Yes Kiki , I like how Mojo has introduced quite a few unusual animals which come from India and around , hoping to see them make a snow leopard, and some himalayan yak and also ungulates, or the spotted pelican ! I grew up having the opportunity to see a sloth bear and it is a delightful critter , and thankfully is now protected by the government ( banned against keeping in temples, circus or whatever else stupid people do, but the Indian Ellie is not so lucky yet ) I hope to get this Sun bear someday
