Drama scene with hyenas and wildebeest

I was outside today with an idea.. I hope it´s not too much fo y´all :)

The gnu does not even look dead

I know... but hyenas are usually eating them alive

Very fabulous pictures, you aren't afraid to "damage" the figures with this red oil (What is this exactly)?

Thank you:) No I´m not affraid. It´s a color on water basic. After that I just wash it off my models :)

So gruesome, but so realistic!

The looks from that Gnu, looking up a what the Hyenas are doing

Scary scenes. Horrifying. But that's how the life (and death) is on the savanna.
And, well, I guess Hyenas are satisfied now, they have to eat something.

I think your photos have incredible expression, they remind me of some Edward Munch graphics and paintings  and further   Expressionism as a trend in painting and movies

You used very sharp light and shadow contrast and the red colour - this and the black as predominant colour - makes it even more horrifying (I'm talking especially about the second photo from the night scenes). Very artistic photos  
I can  hear the laughing hyenas and looking at dying gnu is almost painful. Animals in the background - zebras an giraffe, I imagine they must feel some kind of freezing fear.

Thank you so much for your comment Anna. It means a lot to me... thank you :) I have to admit, I was pretty nervous about this scene. This is situation I hate when it´s happening in nature but it was an idea I had in my head for some time and it was kind of challenge.
Light was really sharp and shadows and colors were making really unexpected effects. And when I´m looking at that second photo of night shots... I feel like... OK, this is totally crazy. Am I still normal, animal loving person? I AM!!!
Anyway... I think this is my most "horror set of photos", because there is probably nothing more horrible than this situation but I can say... I´m really proud of these photos too :)

Very cool! I had the same question as Florian (but you answered it Martin). These are great photo sets. The night set is very cool too.

This makes me happy! Klaus. My favorite fiend. I love the stories Herzog tells. I remember one involving Herzog threatening to shoot Kinski if he left the set (for Aguirre, I think). He actually said something like, I'll shoot you before you make it up to the river bend, out of sight, and then I'll shoot myself. Herzog claims Kinski didn't attempt it because Kinski knew that Herzog would make good on his threat. Those boys were loco.

Yes, they were both too crazy. I have heard this story too (or a version of it). Too crazy.

Sorry Martin for the off topic!! But it also tells how interesting your photos are if they remind of so dramatic stories.
