kiang stallion, mare and foal

I want to show my new project. This is the kiang (Equus kiang).

" The kiang is closely related to the onager (Equus hemionus), and in some classifications it is considered a subspecies, E. hemionus kiang. Molecular studies, however, indicate that it is a distinct species.

The kiang is the largest of the wild asses,  they range from 132 to 142 centimetres (52 to 56 in) high at the shoulder. They have a large head, with a blunt muzzle and a convex nose. The mane is upright and relatively short. The coat is a rich chestnut colour, darker brown in winter and a sleek reddish brown in late summer, when the animal moults its woolly fur. The legs, underparts, end of the muzzle, and the inside of the ears are all white. A broad, dark chocolate-coloured dorsal stripe extends from the mane to the end of the tail, which ends in a tuft of blackish brown hairs.

Kiangs are found on the Tibetan plateau, between the Himalayas in the south and the Kunlun Mountains in the north. Inhabit alpine meadows and steppe country between 2,700 and 5,300 metres elevation. They prefer relatively flat plateaus, wide valleys, and low hills, dominated by grasses, sedges, and smaller amounts of other low-lying vegetation. This open terrain, in addition to supplying them with suitable forage absent in the more arid regions of central Asia, may make it easier for them to detect, and flee from, predators..."

I wanted to represent a male walking as it is a species that is often on the move by the Tibetan plateau and running from the various predators. Share ecosystem of the Tibetan antelope and wild yak, figures that did long ago.

Funny you mention it, - the real, live kiang also looks like the front legs start too high up

- so actually it is a good detail

Numaan're absolutely right ! . the beginning of the thigh of the leg should be slightly below.I'll try to fix it ...

NO worries Miguel. If you fix it just pull that whole leg slightly inwards (back a bit) so that the leg does not extend so far forwards on the hoof too.

Keep up the good work, I cannot wait to see the final painted version!

Well, I have tried to solve the problem by lowering the start of the leg and adding more muscle to the chest. I think the result is very different and better now...

I decided to make a group of kiangs like a herd consisting of a stallion, a pregnant mare and foal big boy, because this species often go together seemed more appropriate and nice.
