1:20 African golden cat (Profelis aurata)

The next member of the FFP will complete the 15 genus of Felidae family with at least one member in every of them.  The African golden cat (Profelis aurata) -the only member of profelis genus- reaches up to 1 meter long being a big “small wild cat” distributed over the rainforests of West and Central Africa.

He has lots of different paths with different colors, with and without spots in different parts of the body.  I still don’t know which one I am going to make although this is my most probable election:

Only...isn't  she a bit too well fed ?  She almost looks like my Mikke, with blurb under the belly and folds at the neck

I think it is great with the not-too-clear spots, to distinguish her from Ozelot etc and show the golden fur

Knowing a little of taxonomy helps you a lot finding species of certain groups.
Arkive is an excellent website or even Wikipedia. For example, I clicked on "Felidae" in Arkive and it gave me a list of all felides in their page. Click next on bottom of the page to see more:

Good point. I think I have to investigate a little bit more to know how the belly of this cat is in the wild life...

I think it is incredible how many beatifull and diferent kinds of cats are all over the world         ...and not all of them are related in the Arkive page...they miss a handful of them...

They have a huge variation as you said. Though, heavily spotted Golden cats are more common among celi­do­gaster subspecies.
aurata aurata usually have spots on lower flanks or belly.
I would choose this 2nd option with a not very dark reddish-brown to orange color, lighter troat, chest and ventral region, darker external ears, spotted on belly . Face also with some lighter areas and tail is very curious with dark tip and a dorsal line surrounded by dark spots.
Can you put all these details in such a small figure? Seeing what you did before, I am almost sure.

That´s right. As you can see here, within the Felidae Family Project I intend to make at least a replica of every Felidae specie, including, of course, the beautiful Asian golden cat.
