(But my fingers are itching to take a brush and paint the feathers as white as the coat. I find it very distracting.)

What a beautiful model <3 Great job! I think I would paint the feathers the same colour indeed, but on the other hand.. My cobs their feathers never look really white

Here's an outdoor photo to prove the feathers are not that yellow.   The first photo was made indoors and my cheap camera always has some difficulties distinguishing whites and off-Whites. I actually made a lot of outdoor-pics, but humidity is so so high at the moment they all came out fuzzy.
