I found some older French models on ebay-fr a few weeks ago.
In this lot was a sitting tiger from Clairet, the odd gorilla(from which i had one already), or human ancestor, and the Austrich are French to i think, but even Christophe doesn't know them, so this is a thing we have to find out.
Here they are:

I love it very much, so much nostalgic in it...

They are all made in the same brittle hardplastic as Clairet and Starlux.

The main problem with Clairet, and Blancherie Fréres, is they didn't made a catalogue with pics so it is uneasy to know sometimes... But those two companies had a recognizable style...
The other problem is a lot of smaller French companies produced animals in hard plastix in the 1950's and 60's.

Here is the "gorilla-missing link" from Clairet and his copy from wendal.
