Dear friends, here are the 10 finalists for 2016 STS Woodland figure of the year!
This poll will run for 6 days with one vote per member allowed.
At the end of Tuesday, February 28th, we will know the results.
The winning figure will participate in the overall 2016 Toy Animal Figure of the Year poll, along with the other category winners.

These topics serve also to debate and I am particularly surprised in this category. First, the good performance of Papo with 6 figures on top10.
These topics also confirm that we are a community with a taste oriented to the traditionally called major brands and that favor unusual species. This last point is where I am surprised. Safari released a roseate spoonbill, the first known rendition of this wonderful bird, and it is not on top10 of its category.
We cannot talk about top10 full of unusual species, actually, white-tail, puma, great white pelican, European hare, moose or even Arctic foxes, are rather common species. So, I conclude that the problem of the spoonbill was the way it was designed. Could it be the base that intends to represent water and make legs look like they were obliterated? I personally dislike the concept although I understand the idea.

Well, Safari Ltd Mockingbird and Roseate spoonbill were at the 11th rank with only one point less the Papo White-tailed deer, it was indeed very close.

In 2016 we had 39 lists and this year 32, this point changed things.

The great thing is we have an Arachnid in the top Ten, that's for the unusual species

Yes, there is no doubts that this year this initiative will be less participated. February is also a less active month than January. Fortunately, the Science and Nature poll of last month was really well participated. :)
I am also very happy of seeing the Papo spider among the most voted. Though, I think the reason is because it is an excellent figure what is a positive thing, of course.
Another interesting point is that the Safari moose is for now leading the poll, the big size is not always very well accepted save some exceptions like whales or dinos,I think againn the sculpting quality demonstrated by Dough Watson may be the reason of the expectable good result.

That's apotheotic!
After 28 category polls during these 4 years, it is the first time Safari takes a first place!
In 4 editions, that's the 3rd cervid in a row. 2015 was CollectA woodland caribou, 2014 CollectA fallow deer. On first edition it was not a cervid but the Kitan Club brown bear instead.
Obviously, it will be also the first time we will see a Safari figure in the big final poll and it is even more surprising once it is a common species and a large figure.
I believe it was Dough Watson the sculptor of this figure, so my personal congratulations to him!

Papo puma was my favourite from this lot. I think it's a wonderful model and I hope I can get it to my collection one day I also LOVE papo arctic fox
It's interesting to see that so huge model as Safari moose won.

I'm surprised as well that such a large model won! It is a very lovely sculpt but for me just far too large. My personal vote went to the wolf spider - an unusual but very interesting model
