I LOVE this model (hence my member name and old avatar). Great job on a great dog breed! I really enjoyed your PBR/bucking bulls too, yellow jacket and nightlife are personal favorites of mine.

I'm really impressed with all of your work - all of the ostriches, zebras, and hippos in different poses, a growing heard of distinct impalas, the prize-winning bulls. All of them look really great, and it's incredible that you've made so many of them so quickly! Thanks so much for sharing with us!

I did expect indeed you’ll love this model. Razz I was not into the bucking bull world, but for the customer who asked for these models, it was nice to study them. Here in the Netherlands nobody will know these bulls. Embarassed  I just googled Nightlife, also a very impressive bull. Shocked

It takes some time, but now I’m spending most of my evenings and weekends in creating the models. And one useful thing about working on the computer instead of using real materials, when I make one ostrich, I can use that files to create another one, so that’s saving a bit of time when I don’t have to start again from scratch. Smile

Where I live Rodeo and PBR type stuff is popular. I mostly just enjoy seeing such impressive animals. I know a few stories about Yellow Jacket and how he was really an even tempered guy at home, but he always knew when he going to an event (to buck or just for the public) and he would get excited and genuinely seem to enjoy it. But you have a great talent of giving these animals, all of them, great justice in your rendering. So great job once again!

Thank you all! I also have a new model again. Smile
This time I had something different in my head I wanted to do. I wanted to combine different species into one model and it’s the first dead animal I created. Neutral This ended up with 6 animals in one model, or let's say, 5 living animals. A typical view for the African savanna: The Circle of Life. sunny Here it is:

It’s one of the Plains Zebra herd that didn’t make it. Crying or Very sad The group of scavengers contains a Marabou Stork, 3 White-Backed Vultures and a Lappet-Faced Vulture just arrived to claim his part of the carcass. Cool

I don’t have uploaded this model yet in the different scales, but I couldn’t wait to show you the renders. Smile Later this week I’ll upload it on my site.

Hope you’ll like this new model! Or is it already a mini diorama? Very Happy

Thanks guys! The model is now online. It’s complicated for sure, but I hope I found all the parts that can be too thin for the printer and scaled them up so it should be printable in all the scales that are online now. So after printing it will be the most challenging for the painter. Laughing

Thanks! All the different type of feathers are separate 3D models that I can duplicate and rescale and ‘stick’ inside the base of the bird, so it becomes the shape of a wing. A bit time consuming, but this gives it the best result that’s as well 3D printable and with a dynamic look. Smile

Oh, how wonderful! More figures for the family of impalas and vultures. The little birds look like small jewels and very original to have added these figures to your collection. Also, the lapped-faced vulture looks great to me Very Happy

Very beautiful and skilfully made models! I am very happy to see that you also have them in 1:32 scale so I can put them together with my Britains collection. Until now, I hadn’t been able to find animals that are up to the Britains quality, but your animals surpass those by Britains.

Is there much difference between Frosted Ultra Detail and Frosted Extreme Detail? I am planning to paint them and wonder whether it may not be worth buying the Extreme Detail versions because the paint would cover any very fine detail anyway.

Also thanks for your compliment Roger! Very Happy The same type of printer prints those materials, only the layer thickness is different. Figures of Frosted Ultra Detail built from layers of materials of 29 microns (0,029 mm) thickness. The Frosted Extreme ones created with layers of 16 microns (0,016 mm) thickness. So both are very detailed and I think you’re right details on this scale will go most part hidden under a layer of paint.

Thanks! Yeah, the 3D printing technique isn’t that far, they can print color on such detail. Maybe in some years.

The female impala is also online now. And for everyone who want to have a model in the near future: Shapeways is now offering free shipping for every order above $25, for the next 10 days.  Smile

Wonderful!! Now we just need 3D printing to advance to the stage where it is affordable and in full colour. If it's not too much, may I ask what software you are using? ... and do you use a pen/tablet setup?

Wonderful!!  Now we just need 3D printing to advance to the stage where it is affordable and in full colour. If it's not too much, may I ask what software you are using? ... and do you use a pen/tablet setup?

Thanks! Yes, when they create the machine to print high quality color, it then will take some more years before it’s affordable. Maybe also nice not everything is taken over by computers yet and we still need the craftsmanship of the artists who can paint.

I’m using the ZBrush software. I think this is the best and most used software for creating high detailed models like these. I’m only working with my mouse and keyboard. I’m used to it to work with these tools, but I think maybe when I get some experience with pen and tablet, that would be a more efficient way.

Just looked at the Shapeways website and saw a cheetah! One of my favourite animals. But I need to wait, as I have just ordered two impalas and a buffalo and I would first like to paint them. Might take a while, as I don't want to ruin these beautiful models.

Thanks for your order Roger! Hope you’ll enjoy the models when they arrive. Nice you find already the cheetah. Surprised It was only 2 days ago I uploaded 3 of them in only one scale. I think this weekend I can upload them in also in the other scales and will show them in this topic off course. Good luck painting the models. Smile

There are also already for some time 10 different models of Asian Domestic Water Buffalo online I made on request. Now I nearly finished to upload them also in the other scales. 8 of the 10 models I cut a part away so they fit for dioramas where they stand or lay in water. I’ll not show them all 10 here, but here is a selection of them:
The standing male:

This one is walking in water:

A female that’s walking to deeper water:

And these two are lying in water:

Hope you’ll like these new creations Very Happy

Thank you guys! Yes Miguel, the wild one is also on my to do list, but I think not in the near future. These are created for a Vietnamese war diorama, but I also want to focus on the Indian wildlife.
I’ve also 3 new ones! Very Happy The first two Blue Wildebeests and a Nile Crocodile.

The male Wildebeest:
