HIGH QUALITY PHOTOS: Bullyland Animal & Mythical 2018 New Release Photos

So a contact in Bullyland kindly sent me some information plus a small screen shot of the new novelties for 2017 (singlue figurines only).

It is with great sadness to inform you that there is very little new releases in 2018 across wildlife, farm and fantasy models.

The contact said this: Next year will be focus on new licenses. This is why we will not have as much new animal novelties like this year.

This confirms what some of you had already suspected over the last few years - Bulylland's main goal is to develop in the licensed toys markets which is no doubt helped by all the new Marvel and DC comic related films etc.  There is no doubt that Bullyland are superb in making various characters from film and whilst their direction is towards this area it can be assumed that the animal range is being left behind or at least not developed with any sort of intensity.

So the flamingo is the same sculpt, it just being re-released in three different paint variations.  I think a boxed set of flamingos is quite cute.  It reminds me of the Playmobil animal set of flamingos in different colours:

Thanks Numaan for obtaining that information. As things are going and as much as I love Bullyland. Namely some old unusual animal figures and mainly their prehistoric Museum series. It will be hard to keep considering Bullyland a current major brand. At least when we are talking about animal figures. They need surely to take a new direction or assume that they're not anymore interested in releasing animal figures. I hope they rethink their strategy and that they return to their old and glorious days.

Last year Bullyland released three excellend spider figures, that were all unique species in the toy/figure realm! Arachnids is one thing Bullyland still exscels at, and let's hope they continue into 2018...

Perhaps a muskox? Their wisent is wonderful, so i trust them to make a good muskox. ^^

Did they say anything about there Dinosaurs?

They dont have a musk ox or any other wildlife apart from a Meerkat and just a boxed set of three flamingos. The flamingo is the same as the current sculpt - there are just three different variations of them which you can buy in a box or on their own. thats it.

I dont have info other than for the fantasy, farm and wildlife models.

Who said anything about a musk ox? There are no other wildlife models!

Are these some unusual flamingo species like James's Flamingo, Andean Flamingo or Lesser Flamingo?

Oh no, poor Bullyland I really like their Disney figurines, so I'm sure their other licensed figurines will be great as well. But I sure miss their range of animal figurines. As Roger said, I really hope they rethink their strategy, because I'd be devastated if they would completely abandon their line of animal figurines! Please, stick with us, Bullyland!!!

Me too. Look at their older prehistoric line, with animals like Megatherium, Chalicotherium, Evolution of Man, Mastodonsaurus and more. THIS times i want back.

With so many new companies (competition) on the scene it is a slim chance bullyland will venture back with miniature animals and they have an amazing animation movie character lineup (Disney especiallyamong others) they are making their major sales with that line. Times they are definitely changing even in the toy world !!

Me either! Though, they were bold enough to make 3 different spider species with different moulds last year!

When I look at my collection, a lot of the figurines I got are from Bullyland. They produced red panda before all the others, they´re still the only company with a topi and they made some years ago a wonderful moon bear.
But they always had many figurines of Disney characters, that I collected, too. With new companies begining to shine (as collectA) and the revolution on e-commerce (safari ltd. much easier to buy), it seems logic that they´re focussing more and more on their beloved lizenses. I can understand that, even it´s disappointing as I started my passion with those bullyland animals.

The flamingos look good and maybe they´re different species, why not?

I agree. With the colour variations i have good experiences with Bullyland. There was a fish serie and a hummingbird serie with any colour variations and all different species. I am hopefully for the flamingos.

Its disappointing to read that a brand that has brought us so many nice figures is slowly disappearing from the animal range scene. But to be honest, they didn't make as many great hits in their animal range to compete with the way the business now runs, and ensuring their Disney/cartoon characters will continue on is a good business strategy as far as survival. But I will admit, I will miss their models such as the moon bear, wisent, Rhodesian ridgeback, etc.

Very nice new animals! I really like their cow and meerkat. I'm not sure why they can't have both a licensing and an animal department working at the same time. That being said, I can fully understand why they're largely focusing on the characters. Those constitute a far more significant financial investment on their part.
