Max's Finds Empty
PostSubject: Max's Finds   Max's Finds EmptyThu Oct 15, 2020 4:03 am

I just got back into collecting a couple of days ago and I. I usually visit my local thrift shops about once a week and today I saw some vanishing wild figures. I paid 14 for the lot and  I'm super excited to have found such great figures so fast. I especially love the snow leopard, definitely one of my favorites from the vanishing wild set.

If your return to this collecting hobby is awarded with a bargain like that, I think it is evident that this hobby is in your blood.
I've witnessed all these years some collectors making relevant investments to get Vanishing Wild Models. Congratulations for such great finds and welcome back to this wonderful hobby.

What a fantastic find ! All in perfect condition, and such a bargain cheers

Congratulations Applause

As far as I know, the Safari Carnegie Elasmosaurus is the really old variation of the model, and ever so gorgeous drunken

Thanks, the timber wolf is definitely one of the better models in the vanishing wild set.

It feels like some kind of sign to get back into the hobby. I do already own a copy of all these figures (not with me at the moment), but the snow leopard is so hard to find. It took me multiple years to find it last time.

I didn't really look into the elasmosaurus figure because it's outside my collecting interest/knowledge. I didn't realize it was the older model, I thought it was the later release. I guess it makes sense for it to be the older release due to the ages of the vanishing wild figures.

The elasmosaur is my favorite (as it is in my collecting focus), but the wolf and snow leopard are lovely also- except for the LSD eyes on the leopard! (know that's how they painted them then, but Shocked )

Decided to go to three more thrift stores today. I found a lot of figures, my favorite being the AAA tiger.

Starting off with some of the Jumbo Jungle Figures from Learning Resources. My favorite of the three I found is definitely the elephant.

Next up is the Schleich figures I found. I used to be a big Schleich collector, but they have become harder to find in my area. I was excited to find these and the pup looks great.

I also got a lot of unbranded figures from china. The sharks and whales I got were pretty nice, but I really like the seals.

Now for some cartoony primates from Jasman. They are kinda weird, but they have a certain charm to them.

It surely has a lot of fun finding these figures.
You've got lots of them and some are really nice like the Schleich, AAA or SeaWorld.
I can't find a tiger like yours on AAA Tigers page at the Toy Animal Wiki. Is there any chance that we could use one of your pictures?

I actually was just looking at the AAA page for tigers and I couldn't find it either. I would be happy if you used my picture.

You've done great! Thrift stores and flea markets are where I find almost all of my figures as well. For some strange reason, I kind of like the Safari Authentics shark. It has a certain vintage charm.

Glad I'm not the only one having a hard time finding Schleich anymore. Safari and then K&M/ Wild Republic are the most available new here.

I used to be able to buy Schleich figures from Target and ToyRUS. ToyRUS is closed for good and Target no longer has figures. I used to buy terra figures from Target, but can't even find those anymore.

Targets by me now has Blip Toys for figures, and only a scant handful of those. There are some Animal Planet buckets with cheap looking figures.

Tractor Supply has a fairly small assortment of Schleich, if there is one near you. Rural King has them too, but they seem to be a rare store.

I have actually never heard of Tractor Supply. I looked on google maps and there is only 10 miles from my house. Thanks for the tip, I'm gonna check it out sometime soon.

Great batch! And you are right, the best in the bunch is that unique AAA tiger. Congrats again!
