2022 Bird Figures from all Brands

I just think birds deserved a topic like this, especially when the figures being released are so diversified and most of them are really exciting models.
I will update the topic myself if more birds are meanwhile released. You can find all of these pictures through the wonderful maps Christophe is working on.
We can turn it into a tradition if it gets enough interest and if there is someone to adopt this subject for future years.
To offer a different way, I am sorting them by their ultra controversial taxonomic  evolutionary history.

Oh thanks! The world's smallest bird and lifesized, what a brilliant idea. I see it is a 16€ set and it is scheduled to February 2022. Some sets are really tempting. I must check Japanese releases, wasn't there a ducks set or so? I must investigate it later.

having taxonomic-specific threads each year actually makes sense, too, as it can narrow down things for people who specialize.

So so many good ones, apart from the Schleich stork and adult CollectA penguin these look all so tempting to me.

German: Meise
Spanish: Herrerillo

Now let's look at Wikipedia names:

English: Great tit
German: Kohlmeise
Spanish: Carbonero común

Scientific name: Cyanistes caeruleus
French: Mésange bleue
English: Eurasian blue tit
German: Blaumeise
Spanish: Herrerillo común

It seems the French and German names are generic while the English and Spanish names were translated from the Eurasian blue tit instead of the great tit.

Absolutely, unless someone demonstrates the other way round. It is clearly a great tit for me.

Like with the Schleich 'greyhound', I reckon we should put this one down to translation error and just call it what it obviously is.

Maybe just a note on the Toy Animal Wiki page to mention that it was sold with the incorrect translation in some languages, just incase anyone in the future goes looking for their figure on there.

Sure, that's the right way. As soon as the picture of the tit is available on TAW, I will try to remember to mention it.
For now, I just simplified the name of European Tit to just Tit to avoid confusion with the other bird.

In German it is a Kohlmeise

Exactly Andreas, I was just refering to the names on catalogues and comparing with the species names in each language.
