Britains Copies

As if I don't have enough to collect, I have some how started collecting Britains copies.........it's a slippery slope.

Thanks for the link! Very interesting, it appears they were copied a lot and in different sizes too. The figures I have are very close to the originals in size.

I have many of these figures

I love the way you introduced this topic.
Britains was so influent that even the figures which are not directly copied from Britains are known as Britains copies.

I feel like what I have learned about the hard plastic Chinamals in general is that they are mostly probably some kind of Britains copy. Every time it seems like it comes back to them!

I’m quite fascinated about some of the copies I had over the years. I do not keep them but sometimes there where very close to original. Once I had a goat copy of Britains which in my opinion was even better than original! I’m not sure if I have photo of her… will check.

Sometimes they are smaller or different size but I sow few very good copies. It was hard to see that they are copies at first glance!

Fantastic comparisons! I enjoy especially those with a completely different painting. Those complement nicely a genuine Britains collection.

These examples provide evidence that international copyright laws don't work.

Just imagine as Britains the originator going to great expense to employ professional artists to sculpt the design and undertake development processes to prepare for mass production.

Then to find that other companies have copied your designs without all these underlying expenses and then have the utter audacity to put these on the market!

Culprits are not just in the Far East but on home (British) soil too!
