Any news on Yowie Group for 2022's Series 8?

Hey everyone! I have been really busy these months, so hope everyone is doing well.

Just to let you guys know... I remember that Yowie announced their 7th Series of mini animals back in July 2021. I also remember that, as early as April of 2022, the Yowie Group announced that the figures of Series 8 would be previewed in the Sweets & Snacks Expo of Chicago. What makes me kind of thinking awkwardly is that we're now in October, and the series was announced in May... And the Series 7 (the one being currently sold and popular), was beginning its release in the Fall of 2021...

I completely understand that COVID-19 and the current situation of commerce has affected the sector of plastic production, that's OK. But so far, Yowie seems to be one of the most promising plastic animal manufacturers, and then suddenly they stop their announcements...

Does any of you know when will the Yowie Series 8 animals be revealed? Or have any of you received news from Yowie's catalog for 2022?

I am subscribed to their email list and have not seen anything yet. I checked their website earlier today and saw nothing.

I haven't seen any news for months and note that the major retailers in the US don't seem to stock any more. Hope this isn't bad news for the future...

Took a while but for anyone curious what they look like... I am only missing 4 now.

Oh shoot, I do have the finless porpoise! I will post it tomorrow.

I am only missing the cassowary, frogfish, silvery lutung, and giraffe calf (probably wont get it and I think I am ok with this one).

Thanks for the photos! Love the bear. I bought 5 more today but 3 were duplicates Hopefully a cassowary won't be too hard to find. Oddly I only seem to find listings on eBay from Australia so far for this series

Paige, I used the chance to use the pictures of the crocodile, the glider and the hedgehog on TAW. Last two are new species for TAW.

I completed the series minus the chase piece giraffe! Roger, any and ALL of my photos can always be used for TAW. :)

I will post the porpoise and the others when I get home (in the next day or so).

I’d love to see the cassowary when you post! I’ve gotten a few more yowies but can’t seem to find the cassowary

I do have a cassowary chick, will post it (hopefully) tonight.


I would like to have one as much as the next person, but these prices are getting ridiculous!!!
Yowie Giraffe Calf Chase Piece

I gave in and pursued the 'new species' even though they are juveniles. I found an eBay dealer that has all of them I wanted (monkey, pig, frogfish, glider, croc).

Glad you found what you needed Blaine! I am convinced that to some degree, the distribution is regional somehow. I got the last 3 I needed in Utah actually. I waved as I drove by SLC.

I will attempt to get a series photo and some comparisons for the cassowary chick this weekend. I probably will not be getting the giraffe calf anytime soon if ever.

Overall I think this was a good series. Would have preferred adults but some of these are nice babies for my other animals.

Got it! Yes, I saw it a couple of months ago! My favorites were the Porpoise and Visayan hog, quite frankly. However, I might wait until any of those are available on eBay for a cheaper price (usually, these figures only come in chocolate-accompanied bundles when released).

Thank you Paige!! I love the cassowary chick! I like that they chose baby animals for this series because all the Yowie figures are pretty much the same small size, so I mostly just collect small mammals, fish, or birds from Yowies. I might wait for more to appear on eBay because I don't feel like getting a bunch of duplicates at the store

Anyone an idea which figure I could use as an adult figure, too? Just wondering, as I´m not so into babies but maybe there are some of those models where there isn´t a big difference betwen youngling and adult.

I haven't been buying these with everything going on, but I love a few of these. At least they have finally shown up locally- I bought 2 and got the wanted croc and a probably keep porpoise. That cassowary though...
Wonder if anyone wants to trade older models for some of the newer? Must check Yowies trade thread.

Probably just the hedgehog, dugong & finless porpoise...?

I added the frogfish, lutung and cassowary on TAW and now it is only missing the strangely expensive giraffe.
I need to open species page for that monkey and frogfish and still to do a gallery for the series.
Those comparison pictures are truly useful, thanks for including the Iberian lynx too.
