Chamois and "feral goat"

Chamois were introduced to southern New Zealand in 1907; sent as a gift in exchange cor living specimens of ferns and small animals to the Austrian Emeror.

I love chamois! I think I have a single one from Papo and no wild goat at all.

Nice batch Paige, I only own the Papo but I have a soft spot for the small Bullyland.
I hadn't realised until now that 20th century companies produced far more chamois than modern brands.
I'm looking forward to the Safari Ltd European toob in particular because of the chamois and, like Jolie, I'm counting on CollectA to concoct us a chamois of the same quality as their other goats.

Bobcats!

The largest bobcat recorded was 50 lbs; typically they are only 15-40lbs for females-males respectively.  The oldest bobcat recorded in the wild was 16 years old; on average the life span is only 7 years, and in captivity one lived to be 32!

I love Safari's bobcat very much. Shocked we don't have more from modern companies.

Brands in the past were often quite generic. A lynx figure could easily be an Eurasian or a bobcat. Though, we all know they are supposed to be the Eurasian lynx because it is by farm the most iconic lynx species. So, it is wonderful when some brands make the other species like Safari did with the bobcat and Canada lynx or Mojö Fun with the Iberian lynx. When they're exposed in a shop, they have the same exact commercial appeal and for us collectors it is an obvious bonus.

Raccoons!

These guys are truly amazing; not just urban pests as many think of them. They "evolving IQs" meaning they learn amazingly fast. Pair this with their very nimble hands and they can open the lid on all sorts of trouble! They are so intelligent but also teachable; they can learn basic skills of a human toddler like clapping. But they get rejected for a lot of experiments due to their willfull nature.

Raccoons are beautiful animals! I even considered to collect raccoons when I started in this hobby. I decided to go for foxes and obviously I don't regret. I use the Schleich standing up one, I love its pose.

Musk oxen!

These guys survive their arctic climes with specializex hemoglobin that is 3 times less temperature sensitive than human hemoglobin! Because of ferocity that males engage in to obtain or defend a harem, they often live much shorter lives than females; up to 5-10 years shorter!

Muskoxen are also beautiful animals and I think they work quite well in toy shape. I like the chronology of the modern brand models where Schleich pioneered .

Great collections of musk oxen and raccoons. I am surprised that so few bobcats have been made.
