2023 Toy Animal Figure of the Year - Preface

Dear friends, welcome to the highly anticipated 2023 STS Figure of the Year awards.
Our community has always been participative, and we are dedicated to preserving this tradition.
We have maintained the categories at seven: Wildlife, Woodland, Prehistoric, Farm, Sealife, Horses, and Dogs.

Starting on February 17th, we will commence selecting figures for each category. The topics will be open for eight days.

Below category links will be updated, some have 5 choices while other have 3 choices each member.

Categories:

- Wildlife - 5 choices
- Woodland - 5 choices
- Sealife - 3 choices
- Prehistoric - 5 choices
- Farm - 5 choices
- Horses - 5 choices
- Dogs - 3 choices

On February 25th, we will initiate polls for all seven categories, featuring a maximum of ten figures with the most choices. These polls will continue until March 2nd, utilizing single vote mode. The figure with the highest number of votes in each category will be designated as the 2023 animal figure of the year for that category.

The final poll, with each category winner, will run from March 3rd to March 9th, again in single vote mode.
The figure with the most votes will officially be named the 2023 STS Toy Animal Figure of the Year.

We aim for fairness and neutrality, thus avoiding adjectives like "best". We're just asking everyone to vote for the figure that brings them joy, regardless of the brand. Participants don't need to collect these figures to make their choices; they simply need to like them.

We'll offer images of the 2023 releases for all categories to facilitate the decision-making process.
All 2023 releases are eligible as long as they are toy animal replicas, including figures that only differ in painting, which will be considered a single entry.

The first and most obvious reason is that this initiative is dedicated to animal figures.
The second reason is that this implies more work than it may seem, hence the need for the involvement of different members of the community.
As for me, I have no objection to creating a category for fantasy figures, but always outside the scope of this initiative and provided that someone takes responsibility for organizing it. We have sections dedicated to that subject, and including releases of fantasy figures in the release topics is a sort of courtesy we extend because some members enjoy the theme, but in reality, they should not be included in those topics but rather have their own in their respective sections.
