As a child I had a tame magpie. He was ever so smart, we had so much fun together ! And they are so beautyful and elegant.
We have ravens here, - they were becomming extinct in Denmark, but fortunately they are protected now.
One morning I was watching tree young ravens all trying to sit on the top of the horses` scratching-pole . They had such a good time pushing each others down with lots of flapping and chatting. I really, really had to controll myself not to laugh aloud and scare them away.

It's a very hard question with millions of possibilities. I like too much animals for decide for only one, but I go to say a pair of them.

Quite a lot, but I really tried to narrow down my list as much as possible

Oh so wonderful topic! I love to think which about so many lovely species. But it is also very difficult topic, so hard to choose. OK the first place is for horse, from all animals horses are unbeatable (which breed? Andalusian, Lusitano, Friese, Fjord, Haflinger, Trakhen, Konik horse, Holstein, Hannoverian, Icelandic and many more )
But I'm fascinated about wild animals too. From this category I will have to say more than one: Mountain tapir, Amazon Dolphin, Tamandua, all duikers, Okapi, Long Beaked Echidna, Yellow footed rock wallaby, all of sloths, Malayan Sun Bear, Gravy zebra
And what about all wonderful antelope species with Nilgai, Bongo and Mountain Nyala and waterbuck on first places? And what about Giant Anteater and all Armadillos and what with Ardvarks, Slow Loris, Chinese Water deers, Moose, Saiga Antelope, white tailed gnus, golden takins, Musk oxes, wolverines and so many others They are all too fascinating to choose one Maybe You not find here many monkey species or big cat species on that list, well I don't mind monkeys of course and I like some of them esp Macaques and crocodiles . From wild cats I like most Lynxes and Snow Leopards.
And from all birds I like most Great Grey Owl, Nightjar, Albatross(any of them), Red throated and Black throated divers :) I love also voices of Bittern and Black Grouse. OK, I'm sorry for all other wonderful animals and birds, my list just cannot be too long

Since a few months there is a Komodo Dragon in Leipzig Zoo and I was so lucky to see him already.
My dream is to visit the island Komodo and see them in their natural habitat,one day.
My bedroom is also full with Posters of Komodo Dragons. (and many other animals )

He's 2 years old and he's a "Trickdog".
I will give hours of exercise for puppies (and their humans) and sometimes Arthur is helping me with anxious puppies or older dogs that come from animal welfare, because he is a very social and sovereign dog

Is it just me or do koalas have reptile eyes?

With as many animals I come in contact with or have kept I do have a favorite, zebras are by far my favorite land animal. I have two small herds with a friend, he had a male and 3 females but all of his animals have the same father, a few years ago I got a mother/son pair so we combined our herds and put my male with his 3 half sisters and my female with his male so the next 4 or 5 years all of the foals will be only partially related and we can get another male or trade some females to keep the genes pure.

most of you know that before I was sick I raised a lot of different exotics, cats, civets, different things like coati mundi and such, I was just emailing Ana about keeping animals and back then there was no such thing as a digital camera. The only option for in instant photo was a polaroid camera and I didn't have one. I do have a few photos of trips I have made and animals I have kept, I will try to get them transferred to a digital format and post, Andreas has asked me to see some so I will try.

Vivian, I used to have a collection of reptiles that had over 300 different lizards including many monitors. I did not keep Komodo dragons but I have been to the islands where they live. Komodo is one of 4 islands where they are native to and I was close enough to see the island from the boat I was on but we did not stop, the island I saw them on was Flores. Somewhere I have slides of them, I will have to look for them and when I find them I'll start a thread.
