Wisent Repaint Empty
PostSubject: Wisent Repaint   Wisent Repaint EmptyTue Sep 13, 2011 2:46 pm

Our friend "PeGe" recently sent me the Schleich Wisent to repaint - so over the weekend I painted him.
I based the colours from this image - but maybe the colours are too dark?

Are you sure it's a Schleich wisent? I looks so much better! Shocked
The wisent on a photo is quite dark, but I've seen quite a lot of wisents (in zoos) and I think this shade is acceptable Razz
I would just darken skin on nose a bit. I'd also add some gloss on nose, all bovines have wet skin between nostrils :)

It's wonderful Harriet.
I think the dark colour is fine. I really like the work you had make with the head. The eyes, the horns and the nose are very well painted cheers
Another think we can see with the picture vs the Schleich model is that the head, as often happens with Schleich, is too big affraid Very Happy

Thanks everyone cheers flower Glad you like the colour - I thought it would be a nice change from the usual light sandy colour of the original Wisent - and I just loved the richness of colours in that real photograph I posted.

Very beautiful :)

I don´t think the color is too dark; I´ve seen several dark bisons and I like them a lot :)

Wonderful repaint Harriet... As usual Very Happy

Too dark or not is not the question indeed : You gave it a lot of personnality. Cool

I love to see your repaint because we can compare with the standart model and see what you are able to do and to dream about it. Thank you Very Happy

Moral of the story is, sometimes "we" just gotta repaint to improve our figures,
because the toy companies just didn't do it right!
