The KAIYODO Bali mynah walkaround

The Bali Mynah (Leucopsar rothschildi), also known as Rothschild’s Mynah, Bali Starling  is a medium-large passeriformes bird of 25 cm. It is almost wholly white with a long, drooping crest, black wing-tips and tail tip. It has a yellow bill with blue bare skin around the eyes and legs. Both sexes are similar.
In its natural habitat it is inconspicuous, using tree tops for cover and–unlike other starlings–usually coming to the ground only to drink; this would seem to be an adaptation to its noticeability to predators when out in the open. The Bali mynah often gathers in groups to better locate food and watch out for predators.
This species is endemic to the island of Bali, Indonesia, where it formerly ranged across the north-west third of the island.
This stunning starling qualifies as Critically Endangered because it has an extremely small range and a tiny population which is still suffering from illegal poaching for the cagebird trade. Releases of captively bred birds have boosted the population, but it is uncertain how many of these have yet bred successfully in the wild. In due course, if the population continues to grow and trapping pressures can be brought under control, the species may warrant downlisting.

I have the great chance to watch every year those wonderful birds in the Planckendael aviary.

It was on my wishlist for long now and at last it reached my a aviary.

I don't like most of the Zoorasia-Figurines as they make wild animals look like comic characters.The worts one is the Douc Langour,..but i like this one, despite of the cheesy but also nicely sculpted traditional balinese mask

The Zoorasia Snow owl is a must have too IMHO
