These Clydesdales are the oldest Safari horses I have. Are they the oldest Safari horses at all, I wonder ?

Great additions Susanne, your collection seems to have gotten very busy lately. I like the older Clydesdales best for their artistic view of them (although they do like party animals )

I found the oldest mare on Ebay.com, but the seller wanted 38 dollers for shipping

Great new horses, I have the two foals, and the older straweberry colored mare, but I am still looking for your darker version. There were also buckskin versions of these models too, I have the foal for that set but mom is still elusive. Congrats again!

Funny how Safari used to make European breeds, while now they mainly make American breeds

Your Safari horses collection is getting beautiful!
It is so nice to see all these figures from different periodes of the brand and even different styles. Some are really nice, otheres are really charming, it is also interesting to see how the brand changed from a really generalist company directing their strategy towards North American market. Here are some more oldies that I have.I think the first Appaloosa was released either before or at the same time as the older Clydesdales.I think the Standard bred was released at the same time as well.

Great catalogue Suzanne-have not seen it before and love the Appaloosas!!they are great.I also have the pigs illustrated in the catalogue in both the as the chester white and the hampshire.

Congrats on your new additions! The Appy mare is sculpted by Kathleen Moody, BTW, currently one of the main sculptors for Breyer. I really like her older models, they have so much personality (and not as much hair).

While packing up my horses I came across this bunch and suddenly realized that the "mare" - ie the walking adult Clyde - is actually a gelding. I'm assuming Safari hasn't intentionally portrayed a non-standard equine family, but I like to pretend they have. There's quite enough bogus heteronormativity in the model world!
