This is an Animal Planet set, sold on Toys'r'US stores. They used Chap Mei moulds, though, these figures were not marked Chap Mei.
There is also a large version but both are missing on TAW.

It looks the same. Maybe a few stamped ones slipped through?

I will dig mine up this weekend and photograph it for TAW, if wanted.

Unlikely, before these Animal Planets, these figures were already available in Chap Mei branded sets. You can see a picture of a Chap Mei set here.
A picture is surely needed, especially of yours once it is the original Chap Mei marked model. Please take it from top or we will see the Legoman with something flat on its side.
