| The new line of Schleich horses, clearly targeted to younger people, is bringing an interesting controversy between the traditional and older collectors that appreciate figures that replicate their respective breeds, and younger collectors that usually have a preference for pretty figures where cuteness and fantasied style are more appreciated. Both ways of collecting are obviously respectable and STS forum is proud of having collectors with so different tastes that can discuss these subjects in a friendly way. So, I thought it was interesting to open a poll asking which 2014 Schleich horse is the most promising for you. Of course we only have catalogue pictures but you can choose judging accuracy, loveliness or any other aspect that is more relevant to you. These votes are anonimous but everyone shall feel free to comment! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]P.S.: I removed all foals even I think they are nicer than their parents. If it turns interesting we can start later another poll to them. |

| I think that Friesian mare will be quite decent, even with the braids. I even think that these types of braids suit this type of horse Trakehner stallion would be the second in my ranking, even though he's a bit too heavy for the breed. The rest is just "meh". _________________ ~Magda (formerly Mangalarga) [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Blog | Facebook |

| As of this moment (without seeing the figures in person) I like the trakhener stallion and foal, the Shetland foal, fjord family, knapstrupper foal, and the falabella gelding, and the Arabian foal. I have to see them in person first before I would buy them, but these ones seem alright compared to what Schleich has been producing lately _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | I like the Friesian mare the most, she is a good replacement for the old Friesian mare model, which is one of my favorite Schleich horses. The second in ranking is for me the Trakehner stallion, which seems to me a little bit too heavy. Maybe it is just his coloring I don't really like . _________________ Andrea :)

| I chose the Trakehner Stallion as the most promising for me. I think he looks like a Western cowboy horse The pinto never caught me, but this guy may possibly. I'm not very familiar with the breed, but I really like his colouring and he has also such a gentle expression. I like that he is moving, though I think his pose is a bit odd. If I could chose a second, it would be the Friesian. Third be the Fjord Stallion. And the absolute scandal is the Arabian. I like her hind legs and behind... But that's it. AND - I think pink braids should have been exclusive to Princess iMHO _________________ ~ Portfolio & Online Comic ~

| Trakehner and Fjord Stallions are the only two of this new Kind of horse models, which are "best looking"of them all, but this makes them only"acceptable"-nevertheless, I don't buy them. The rest is, I have to say, for the Trash can, especially the Falabella gelding ( he looks like if he has a collic ) and the Shetland Ponies-they are ugly in any way.The heart on the Mares back leg is so sweet and cute... The Frisan mare Looks simply ridicolous-like a crossing between a Brachiosaur and a Shire horse ! Sorry, but the foals are not really better than their parents. |

| I am happy with the participation of all. This poll will be active during 30 days, it shall be interesting even more participation even from members that doesn't collect horses like me. We can already conclude that the most recognizable of these horses, the Fjord stallion, is being clearly the best accepted and curiously I also voted in him. Ponies are also having a reasonable performance once this cute style fits very well with them. Braided ladies are loosing the battle, impressive that Trakehner mare, Princess copy, is not having a good acceptance. Copies are never as originals! As I commented on Schleich 2014 news topic, it seems the Frisian mare will result in a spectacular figure, if it was the only with braids it would probably have more focus but with so many braids she's only one more. Sometimes I think that one day, all these girls with braids, flowers and these sweet details, what I use to call Junior line, won't have a breed assigned but girl names instead. - Carola wrote:

| I voted for the Fjord stallion. I wanted to vote for the Shetland pony mare, but that heart changed my mind, I hate people doing stuff like that to animals! _________________ Bojan

| I like best the fjord stallion. The mare has a good pose, in my eyes, but she is very strange looking with the semi long cutted mane. Perhaps better than braids, but I will buy her only because I want to have the whole fjord family. |

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] For me, I think my big issue with her is her head way too short (other than I would prefer her braidless). Her body isn't too bad from what I can tell, but I would have to see her in person. If I could buy an old Arabian model I would replace this new ones head with the older one's just to see what it would look like. |
