| Love that badger, one of their best figurines of last 3 years! I still don't get it why he was retired so fast! _________________ Bojan

| I think it has to do with sales. Schleich is a money hungry company, and when something don't sell the first year then out the door it goes . |

| I love that fox, it almost doesn't look like a Schleich with these delicate legs, long and narrow body and a very well balanced pose. Also good proportions head/body. The only thing that I think should be better is exactly because of your comment. It looks not furry like they're in Winter, the hair looks short like a Summer coat. So, i shouldn't be white but greyish instead. Though, it would turn the figure less identifiable and also less atractive. The other choice would be a furrier sculpt and Schleich knows how to do it. |

| There's not much better around. I have the 2007 Ibex as the representative of the species in my collection. A little chubby to recent standards but still a nice figure. |

I have this figure and must say the catalog photo makes it look better than in reality. However I can recommend it, it's very nice for a Schleich figure IMO. - Takama wrote:

| Congratulations for your pygmy hedgehog and for your antecipated Christmas. You asked which figures Schleich needed to improve? Some of them are very important to have a range with a balanced quality. Among them the prioritairy in my opinion are elephants, lions, tigers, crocs, camels and bears. Schleich is not very good with any of them. However, these last years, Schleich also released some really nice figures like the kudu, badger, yak, zebras and some more and some good ideas like it was with eaglets. |

| As I said, I limited my self to figures from 2008 till today, though I raised the limit to include figures from 2007, like the Okapi and meerkats (subject to change) I also limited to just one of the sexes from some animals unless there both different (example, I would buy both lion and a lioness, but not a Tiger and a tigress.)

Very interesting! I also don't collect usually both adultes, only when they show an interesting sexual dimorphism as in the example you're giving. The exception are does, I don't find them interesting. But, exceptions are easy in a collection and they're dangerous. I also don't see much interess in a tigress but how could I resist to Papo tigress with cub? From 2007 don't forget the jaguar, it is still my favorite jaguar of all brands. |

| Yeah, I cant help but notice that the Jaguar is similar to the leopard in appearance and almost in sculpt. What makes me curios is that the leopard has a smother texture then the later lions and tigers.
I might get the Jaguar if its recommended. got any thoughts on the Leopard? |

I might get the Jaguar if its recommended. got any thoughts on the Leopard? I think toys are a fantastic way to help us identiying species, as a consequence, it is important to have a jaguar and a leopard. As you know, they are different species, as lions and tigers are too. Also, morphologically, they are more distinct than lions are from tigers. Jaguars are larger, much more massive, have shorter tails and pattern is also different. While leopards have broken rosets usually with the inside of the rosets of the base color of the fur, jaguars have rosets with inside darker and central black dots. The distribuition of markings is also different. Jaguars are American animals and leopards are African and Asian. It is true the generally, they share a similar aspect and older versions of Schleich are almost not recognizable because leopards were very chubby. Newer versions are distinct enough even I don't find Schleich leopard as nice as it is the jaguar. Though, if you don't like that they have a similar appearance, you can buy jaguar and the melanistic variation of the leopard, the new black panther. |

| Got Three new ones today. Male Ostrich, Wolverine, and swimming Drake One I like the most is the ostrich. Its one I have been wanting. The Store I went to today had two of these birds in a display case, but none were on the shelves for purchase. Luckily one of the employees opened the display case so I can grab one of them for purchase, Although I like it, though there is one thing that baffles me, Whats this orange stripe on him, Is that Paint, or the plastic of the figure? My next favorite is this Drake. Such a nice little figure.
