Hello friends!

I'm very happy to start topic about tapirs! We want to see here all tapirs from your collections

A few words about these cute animals with help of wikipedia:
A tapir is a large browsing mammal similar in shape to a pig, with a short, prehensile snout. Tapirs inhabit jungle and forest regions of South America, Central America, and Southeast Asia. The four species of tapirs are the Brazilian tapir, the Malayan tapir, Baird's tapir and the mountain tapir. All four are classified as endangered or vulnerable. Their closest relatives are the other odd-toed ungulates, including horses and rhinoceroses.

Here are tapirs from my collection. First Malayan species, this one is most often represented among modern brands.
From left to right you can see my handmade tapir female (I think from 2008) then oldest of them all Tipple Topple then Schleich (2009) then also old Lineol which I don't know production year and  tapir calf is also handmade by me at the similar time as adult.

Excellent tapir collection Anna   I remember your first Malayan tapir... We are old friends now  

Wow, wonderful Tapirs Anna! My very best Tapir is the recent Mojo, by you! (I also like the CollectA a lot, especially with its little young'un.) The only Tapirs I have that you haven't displayed are the Safari and Papo Malayan. But if I get a chance to post pictures, I will. In the meantime, here are my two recent favorites.

For me Lineol Malayan tapir is especially inspiring figure

Hurray for STS and for Mojo and CollectA. Otherwise we might never have discovered that a tapir is not neccesarily black/white   

At the moment all I have the old Schleich one, but hopefully soon I will have several more. Great collections everyone!

Gorgeous tapirs, everyone!!! Interesting to see Anna's brown version of the lowland tapir, what a lovely animal!!

Thanks Anna! I love the Kaiyodo tapir's blue eyes. Interesting enough they decided on blue instead of the usual black.
