What an impressive collection of anteaters Shocked
But you do have a huge and fine collection, if I remember right ?

It is the cutest anteater I have ever seen, - maybe his mom fell in love with a shetland pony ?
For sure he likes to stick his nose in tomatoes, - UPS ! Sorry, sorry Embarassed

I mean no harm, just ask the others, - It just jumped out of my fingers pale geek

Is this one of Ana's first attempts to make figures ~ when she was 3 years old? Wink
If it is then you have a very valuable figure there! cheers (Have you seen Ana's figures truly beautiful!)

I am teasing...I have no idea who could have made this but there are others here on the forum that might...thanks for sharing photos of all your anteaters.

Tipple-Topple ??? Are you sure ?

I think the model on the left is a repainted Lineol from the 1920's serie confused

Thanks for the identification, Kikimalou! We have seen very few Marolin animals.

I have never handled an old Lineol Anteater, but in all the pictures I have ever seen, it looks identical to the old Tipple-Topple animal, right down to the carved hair on the tail.

The Anteater in our second picture has never been repainted. His remaining paint work is the typical sad, mud-colour of the old Tipple-Topple models.

We have a 1950's Tipple-Topple Anteater, bought with a batch of other 1950's Tipple-Topple zoo animals. Its carved details are exactly the same as those of the older Anteater in our second picture.

I wish you could come to see and handle them yourself! If you are interested, we'll try to get good pictures of them.

Thanks again,

Lesley

Hi all,

i have shown the photo of the anteater to Ulli Raue. Ulli has maybe the world biggest collection of composition animals. He´s a absolut expert.

He says that the anteater is from Chialu, Italy.

Hello Sue-from-Canada! Love the cattle in your picture.

We are two old women living in the English Lake District.

When we started to collect composition animals, long ago, people told us that only the military models were worth collecting ... the animals were worthless and should be thrown away.

So we rescued all the animals we could find! And then so many different makers started to produce plastic animals to the same scale ... and so our collection has grown.

Well, congratulations on your composition and anteater collection ladies! Great stuff!
Keep on collecting them, they are the pre-ancestors of all we have right now! farao
And in a lot of cases like the lineols, they are still the kings and queens! king queen
So the case with the strange anteater is settled by now, good to know, and as you see, we are a encyclopedia all together and with all of our contacts! study

As extra information:
In 1925 the Hausser(Elastolin) company bought the Austrian Pfeiffer company who had the Tipple Topple brand... Rolling Eyes

Sincerely I don't know, Chialu are really rare to find and their howling wolf is not the most common.
