| Here is the new 2014 male hippo and the updated/repainted hippo cow. Still too long of a body but much better than the gray color. See next picture. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] _________________ Shawn

| Thanks for showing, Shawn. With that beautiful setting, tag wasn't really needed! Obviously, with the introduction of a new and better hippo, that lady needed to be retired or her painting updated. Grey color was really not good although we know it is a very old figure, as old as Wild Safari Jungle series. I suspect she won't take too long on catalogue and soon will be discontinued together with the calf. By the way, was the painting of the baby also updated? From being long, hippos grow in length for a long time, older hippos are really long creatures and she is old in fact. |

| Congrats! I really like the new painting on the hippos, it looks a lot more realistic even though the one with the open mouth is very similar to the Wildlife Wonders hippo in painting and mold. |

| It looks great! And I really like the new 2014 one.
Why does it come in gray to begin with? Why can't they give it the appropriate color? I have seen that there are brown hippos almost in every company.
If, some day, I will get a odd coloring animal - like a gray hippo - How can I repaint it? is this hard to do? can you advise, please?
Do you have Schliech Hippo that you can put with the new 2014 Safari ltd. Hippo for comparison?
Thanks, |

| The gray hippo is 18 years old now, in that time hippo toys were rarely brown To repaint a model, you need first to clean it, dry and put a thin layer of paint ( gray, black or white). Then you can start painting it. How to paint ? I guess our specialists will answer better than me |

| She at least looks better than before, and I also think its kind of funny that she dwarfs that male. Congrats again. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs.
