As the Safari brown pelican is so hard to find, I thought I'd try to make one of my own... The Bullyland micro minis are unnervingly addictive, although the original colors leave something to be desired - but then, that just means they make fun repaint projects. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]So here's what I've been doing this afternoon instead of finishing the presents like I'm supposed to. The flash really washes out the color, and the shiny spots are because the paint isn't quite dry yet, but overall he's pretty near finished.

There are advantages to being ridiculously nearsighted... painting tiny models is easy peasy as long as I have brushes thin enough and my hands don't shake. I'll probably do something with the white one as well, once I find a fun color scheme.

All done! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I cleaned up his markings a little and added some sand to the base to cover the slot down the middle. Would love some more elaborate bases, but I just don't have the skill or patience to make them from scratch.
