| Nice collection.
Are they VEB Plaho? or Jean Hoefler? I know you said "GDR knights", but I thought they look like Hoefler style horses.
I have one of them - larger scale grey foot knight, standing with one hand on hip and other hand holding sword pointing down to ground.
I don't know if it reflected a real difference between English and German medieval warfare, but I've noticed one absence in your collection - archers, either long bows or cross bows. UK made toy knights sets usually included one or both.

Thank you Dave. I dont know if they are VEB Plaho too, there was any more figurine makers ( especially for american natives and cowboys) more. The VEB Plaho animals comed always in a plastic bag. Also the bigger knights but without VEB Plaho paper. But they are not Jean Höfler figurines, that will i post later. I got my first (small) knights with 6 years as i begun my school life. But i dont know when they was released before. You are right, i dont know a archer figure in this kind from Germany. But the famous long bows was a very special from the english medieval warriors i think. I only have archers in the 1/72 scale. |

| Hello Andreas, big and impressive collection ! Without any doubt they are toy knights by Jean Hoefler, a West Germany company. Here the web site: http://wildwester.wi.ohost.de/figuren/jean.htm In the past this site had a lot of pages, with pictures of the whole Hoefler' s production. Now I can open only the presentation page. I do not know why. You have an important middle age army. Now you need a castle and siege machines... By Jean Hoefler, of course... Best regards Stefano. |

Thank you very much. I have a castle, handmade by my dad because in the former GDR you dont find a castle to buy. But this are not Jean Hoefler , that are really GDR knights. Only similar. My Jean Hoefler knights you can see here https://sts-forum.forumieren.de/t12258-the-jean-hofler-knights-from-my-childhood-collection |
