| Ok Then! You made it, good girl, haha! It looks if this zebra is from an older mould, but it is not bad either... The ears are slightly bigger then on my model indeed. But you don't need to re-paint it, a black waterproof marker does the job too! Of course you need a steady hand for that, but it works, and is not easy to rub off anymore... |

| Nice job, I like the repaint, and I like the pose, how big are they compared to Schleich? I ask because I want another herd of zebra feeding all, but I do not want to use the same pose for every individual so the more the better.

Actaully Phil, I haven't repainted it yet in those pictures I have almost finished it, just a last few touches, will post pics soon. It's a little bigger than Schleich, I will post pics with a Schleich Zebra to compare for you. |

| Excelent repaint, and thanks for the comparison between her and Schleich. She is a little bigger, but within the size that I may be able to use, I'll have to start looking for one to get, and like yours I don't mind repainting them, I don't think I'm very good at painting, but at least zebra is easy, no color mixing. |

| Your AAA Zebra is more in scale with the Schleich isn't it, or is it just the angle of the photo? |

| Well, the angle does something on that. But in fact is mine smaller then Schleich, and your a little bit bigger. So the mould must be different then. |

| I think the one on ebay is your version Holly. They are both made by AAA, but the fact that yours is from the ELC series, explains the differences. |

| Yes it is Willy, that's the one Phil was after. I like the size of yours, but I haven't seen one for sale on eBay yet. Hope the seller ships to where you live Phil. |

| Would be nice if you can catch it Phil! Mine is still in production, you just have to find it anywhere... By accident i found it in a zoo-shop, and i was quickly to decide to buy him, because he was in an original position(that was before Schleich made its grazing one). |

| Nice zebra, HK. The textured finish is interesting, and very different from that seen on many Papo mammals. I believe the AAA texture is somewhat more nuanced, but I'd be interested to hear how other collectors feel about this..... |

[img] [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] jpg [/ img] [/ url] [/ quote] Great set of zebras Willy, as anyone here who follows my diorama posts, here and on LG, you all know that the zebra is my all time favorite animal. I have all of those, plus a few more, including the Noah's Pals pr, which I love the pose, but the scale of that series is 1:24 and they are just a little too small to fit, and believe me I have tried to find a way, as a juvinile, in a different part of the diorama so they are not next to the main herd, nothing seems to work as far as my diorama is concerned. |

Sort of, the guy wanted too much to ship, so Stecal got it for me and will send it, even with the double shipping, seller to him, him to me the cost was half what the shipper wanted to send directly. So Yes, but not directly. Thanks for watching out for me, and not bidding me up, Stecal says there is another one listed, he asked if I wanted two, but I don't like to double the poses so I'm not going to bid on this one. I'm really looking forward to recieving it and adding him to the herd. |

Yes, I'll repaint him, I love your repaint, much better then I do, but mine are ok, I don't know why but I can drew with pencil or charcoal, in fact I mentioned on an earlier post (maybe on LG) I do very accurate fish drawings, the correct scale rows and fin ray counts, stuff like that, and have been paid for drawings that have been published in papers on particular species, but if I have to have color, or do ink or any other media I suck. the good thing about zebra is I just paint the whole model white, and then add stripes so there is no mixing of colors and the end results is ok.
I got a great Lineol zebra from Christophe, but the paint was chipped and repainted him to match the Schleich herd and that one I am very proud of, the same for Safari, I turned on of their zebra figures into a mountain zebra, adding a dewlap and then repainted it. I also made the Wallmart brand, I think it is HD, but I don't remember, into a Grevy's zebra, but the stiping is so thin and I don't really like it that much so I may repaint it. The problem for me with the very thin stripes is the brush I have is too soft so the stripes come out shaky. I need to get a stiff brush to do them, but that is for another day.
Are you going to bid on that other AAA zebra, right now there are no bids and it is the same price, 0.99 so it could be cheap if no one else bid on him. |
