Well, tried making a triceratops for the sake of it out of homemade "playdough" (flour, salt, water), since my son made me play with him. I think it ended up looking like a cross between a rhino and a triceratops.

Definitely not going to try to make a serious model with this stuff... Of course, with the amount of effort (or lack thereof) I put into it, I'm pretty sure it would've looked similar, regardless of the medium.

Pictured with Schleich triceratops for reference

Well, my son was playing with this one and the elephant and they fell off his head.  And smashed into many pieces.  Very sad.  Unshed tears in his eyes sad.

So, I tried Sculpey.  "It's done, it's done!"  wasn't quite conducive to having a critical eye. Wink

Thanks, LeeAnn, Jonas, NandO, Suzanne, Emma.

Oh, come now NandO, it looks exactly like a snake. Everyone knows snakes us stilts  Very Happy  Laughing . :)

(Unfortunately, the newer triceratops got a bit chipped on its crest already. Maybe I'll be able to make another one and switch it out without him knowing? Who am I kidding... I'll just wait til he gets bored with it.)

Yeah, so maybe using a reference photo would have been helpful when I made the cat

I tried the whole little skeleton thing... Might have to change out the skull... But I figured the saber teeth would be a little too delicate for twice-baking....

Okay, so work in progress.  Supposed to be a smilodon.

This one's half for me to be able to "step back" and half to get advice.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

yes, I know the head needs (lotsa lotsa) work. I thought I'd finish the body/neck first though so as not to smoosh the face after fixing it. :)

It's propped because I accidentally broke one of the legs.  I really have got to get metal instead of just using toothpicks. Very Happy

Update: well, front right leg still has issues, going to try to fix before I bake it tomorrow.  I think the body's closer to being something like what it might ought to sort of look like.  And the head, well, it's slightly better. Meh.  Okay, off to cleaning the house which I should've done hours ago.
Constructive, preferably specific feedback would be nice. Thanks!
