Hello,  cheers

I see so many of you in this forum making such beautiful sculptures of animals! I tried it myself sometimes.. but i always fail.
..and I think, the problem lies with how i do the wire amature, i just can't get it right! >.< so my question was:
how do you do the wire amature? do you bend it, burn it together, or you use special products to bend it?
I'd like to know cus i have super sculpey, but never can use it because i always fail!
hope some of you can help me?? Ps. I don't know if i placed this in the right caragory.. correct me if i didnt xD

I like to use wire, bend it into shape, and use aluminum foil to hold the pieces together and build up bulk. Very Happy

I also like to uses aluminium foil too, unless it's a very small figure. Also, I make my armature out of one piece of wire. This way it won't fall apart while scupting but it is less easy to reposition the wire.

I just use regular, cheap wire from the hardware store which you can bend with pliers.  
I cut one section for the body and then two for the legs which I then use masking tape to secure together.  
I bulk up the form with aluminum foil and then start adding clay.
This makes a very sturdy skeleton that will stay together.

Nice topic! I usually make similar wire armature as Elephas_Maximus, similar technique. I buy wires for that purpose in florist shop, florist wire is available in few different thicknesses. Smile
