| When last shopping at Target I picked up this boxed set. Having now looked at it more closely and taken all the animals out I have to say that it is really pretty good. The sculpt quality is good for the size, which is small - a bit like tube type animals. They are in fact better than the large bin animals currently available from Battat in the Terra line. They do say Terra on them or in the case of the Caribou Terra by Battat, so I believe they are new sculpts just for the line and not repackaged China models like their buckets are. The box style is the same as that used on the new Don LoRusso dinosaur line. and here are all the animals - a Caribou, Canadian Lynx, Gray wolf, Skunk, Snowy Owl and a pair of baby brown bears. I will do posts with closer pictures of each next. _________________ Tim :) ToyAnimal.info - The Toy Animal Collecting Wiki Animoblog Animobil.info Playmobil Animals

| caribou - it's a moving pose I guess, looks not too bad but I would be happier if it was a little better balanced on it's feet. It doesn't fall over just looks odd with the rear leg up like that. _________________ Tim :) ToyAnimal.info - The Toy Animal Collecting Wiki Animoblog Animobil.info Playmobil Animals

| the funny looking one that people have seen in the pictures of the boxed set is a gray wolf howling, it is seen from the front when looking at the box so it looks odd, they would have been better to place it in the box differently. That's it for this look at the Battat Terra series North American Set. The set cost $12.99 which is a bit expensive for what you are getting, but it is nice and I am happy with it. I am curious if they will have more such sets in the future. There is one other set right now called Wild Animals that is an African themed set. I may get that one as well and post it here for you in the future. _________________ Tim :) ToyAnimal.info - The Toy Animal Collecting Wiki Animoblog Animobil.info Playmobil Animals

| Thanks for presentation Tim, I was really curious about this new 2014 set. In terms of species it is quite interesting that they decided for a Canada lynx instead of a bobcat. I think it increases the interest of the set. On the other hand it seems that with so many skunk species their option was a striped skunk, the good part is that it works nice in that small size. Figures are generally pretty for their size, I hope some day they sell them individually considering I don't have a Canada lynx in my collection yet. I'm glad the misterious figure is just a wolf and not any kind of North American ghost. |

| I think the animal choices reflect the fact that Maison Joseph Battat Ltd is a Canadian company, all of these are animals fairly common in Canada, where US companies would include a deer instead of a caribou probably and a bobcat instead of a lynx. Precisely, very well observed. _________________ Tim :) ToyAnimal.info - The Toy Animal Collecting Wiki Animoblog Animobil.info Playmobil Animals

| They don't look too bad. The bear cubs seem a little strange (most likely the pose). I also noticed the size; I think they should have been made a little bigger with the company knowing that mostly children would be playing with them. |

| hey just noticed they have some of the Terra by Battet online at Target now. Not a huge selection, but might be worth a look. Terra at Target
(just select "toys" to get rid of the terra cotta pots and such)
Target's also got a free shipping within the continental US for the holidays thing going on _________________ Laura
