| Thank you Anne-Joke, Anna, Karin, Susanne, Agata, Rogério, Jonas, Kayla, Saarlooswolfhound, and Andreas! I think it tries to steal food from the raccoon, but the Papo raccoon always looks as if it has had plenty to eat! |

| I found this photo I took last summer: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I did not have this image as reference for the squirrel, but if I had, I realized it would have saved me a lot of work! [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] Okay, I'd better post something legitimate next...

| Here are the Safari Ltd. North American Wildlife Toob figures: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]They are all charismatic miniatures of larger models. Now, it is true that browns prevail in most of these mammals, but not these browns. So, some of them have received more natural pelage, with more to follow in the future. For now here is the wapiti: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]He is on the grayish side, sort of an old winter coat. Since this repaint, I found the larger version in this pose, so I can try a variation sometime. (The mountain goat shows painted hooves, but may get additional attention. The pronghorn will get his turn on here, too.)

| I really like your paintwork, they are beautifully done and for something so small, it's impressive! The grey squirrel is wonderful in particular. _________________ Harriet My *Collection* My *Handmade Animal Sculpture*

| Here is the bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis) from the tube. You can see its original paint scheme in the previous group photo. Like the wapiti, this animal's coloration is more complex than one might think at first glance. I like their sheep-eyes and white snout. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Here it is with a solid base color applied. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]There is also a nearly identical (but not quite) sculpt in the Desert Toob. I'm trying to decide, should I paint it as a companion for this figure or with colors more suited to a desert bighorn? I suppose they would look fine together even if they had different coats. _________________ - Andy

| Looks really nice and great pictures. I didn't know bighorns from these toobs were different. I'd suggest a desert bighorn, I find it an excelent idea. |

| Wow great job with the elk and the ram. Fantastic figures hidden under crappy paint jobs and you made them looks like a million bucks! _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Thank you, everyone. I realized I had both bighorn figures on hand, so let's do a little comparison, shall we? [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]There are two main differences I notice. First, the supposed desert bighorn has a slimmer body and legs. Second, its horns are curled differently, more outwards and less backwards. I do not know if this is an intentional reference to a different bighorn (thinner coat?) or just updated sculpting/tooling, nor do I know which Toob came first. _________________ - Andy

| Thanks, everyone. NandO, I think a needle or toothpick can be easier than a brush for the center of the eye on such a small model. Next are the repainted pronghorns that went with my figurines from the prairie scene. If you look at the Safari toob group picture you'll notice the pronghorn is one of the worst offenders, color-wise. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]This one is from a K&M International wildlife tube. I've always liked it but it also looks better with painting.
