Oops! I haven't updated this since April

I haven't been doing much customising due to my exams (results come out next week, I'm very nervous!) and life in general, in fact I'm going on holiday tomorrow but I thought I would squeeze in a little update

The Breyer Shetland pony now has eyes (excuse the dust )

I've decided to re-customise this Schleich horse as I did not like how she was turning out, she's only had one layer of primer thus far though

Exciting! Like the color you got for the Andalusian! Also those ponys from me are looking well :)

Are there more update on the horses ?

Oh it's been a very long time! Yesterday I gave myself a whole day to do some customising - it was great fun

First up was the Andalusian mare who seems to have never ending layers of pastels! I was hoping to finish her but I ran out of fixative and my hand started to ache so she has quite a few layers to go still!

I then moved onto the bear which I had already primed. I started with some varying shades of acrylic paints then did a few layers of pastels (again I ran out of fixative ). This model also still has quite a bit of work to go, including fur details, face, mouth and feet shading etc. And excuse the bad photo - the lighting does no justice for his shading thus far!

Then I moved onto one of the Andalusian foals which I own, the original paintwork was very scratched and so I saw I had no other choice but to make it another victim of customisation!  Likewise lots of work needs to be done still though I really like how the base colours look so far!

Lastly is my favourite custom of the day, this Percheron is quite close to completion, just a few more darker layers and then eyes, hooves and mail/tail to be done! In hindsight I would've put a white sheet down behind him so you could see the shades of grey more easily

I really wish I could've updated this thread earlier but I have been very busy with school, travelling and family life! Though I must say I look forward to coming back to this website and I miss it dearly when I'm very busy!

I really think you should make the mare and foal a bit darker on the legs maybe?
Ore will they have white socks?
Most horses have darker legs so if these horses have licht legs
it maybe will look funny at the end? I can be wrong afcorse :)

Yes I was planning on making the legs darker in the next few layers as I too thought they looked out of place Thank you!

Are the Andalusian mare and foal going to get one of these rare pearl colours? (like horses from the Yeguada Paco Marti [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] )

Thank you for your comments everybody I've done a couple more layers of pastel but haven't had the chance to take any more pictures yet.

And I have never seen those pearl colours Anna! They are very beautiful - the colour reminds me of the Akhal Teke breed

Here are some minor updates on some of the CM's mentioned above.

The Hanoverian Mare got more shading (which doesn't show too well) and glossed eyes and hooves.

Then here is the Percheron Stallion, he is much darker in real life and also has shading. I quite like how even his colour turned out - though I might darken his mane and tail as I think it needs to look a little more dirty. But overall I think I am improving quite a lot and cannot wait to finish the others

I have also ordered some more pastels from my favourite brand so hopefully I will get chance to use them soon (and I'll try not to make another grey horse )
