| Here's a mob of Schleich suricates I repainted as a surprise for my mother a while back. There's an additional pup in original sculpture in there, as well. Their footing was my first attempt at diorama stuff, and the sand (sifted gravel off a nearby road) is too dark and coarse, I know. The meerkats were painted more graphically than I otherwise might have done, and without much detail, to compensate for my mother's poor eyesight. They were fun to do, though. | Thanks all! She was indeed pleased with them, once she noticed they were there (I just sneaked them on her windowsill one day). I'm afraid you must be quite right about that business with The Lion King, Rogério - we can still sing Scar's "Be Prepared" in unison by heart... | Why, thank you Álvaro - what a compliment! I take it you haven't met meerkats in the flesh in a zoo or such yet? Because I can assure you, the real things are much, much cuter still - and utterly hilarious to watch! (I hear they bite very hard, though..) |

| Ok, I know its a little late to the party, but those are absolutely fantastic! They look like they're breathing! Alvaro, I wish a brand would make some Prairie dogs, they are basically the American version on meerkats. |

| Yes, well said Saarloos! Prairie dogs are American meerkats. Out in the Badlands, I saw tons of them. They are really funny when they bark, because they jump when they do! _________________ "Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the number of moments that take your breath away!"

| Thanks CC and Koniminiatures. I meant figures that were in a smaller scale like the schleich meerkats, the safari ltd. figure is a larger model. I have seen marmots by other brands, but I don't rememeber ever seeing prairie dogs. CC, I would love to see prairie dogs in real life, but where I live you mostly only ever see the afore mentioned marmots, groundhogs, etc. _________________ -"I loathe people who keep dogs. | Here's a wee Bullyland German Shepherd (around 4cm tall) I got from Taos recently (thank you!) and quickly customised & repainted as a little gift for Deseo, who has helped me a great deal with finding dogs. An original version of the model may be viewed on Deseo's website here (I was too dumb to photograph the model myself before modifying it..). The model's just a quick paint-up with very minor sculptural changes (new belly & neck fur, nose, tail and haunches) and next to no seam work (as may be seen on his paws..), but he was a fun one to do. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A couple of shoddy detail shots, the latter with flash on, in attempt to pick up the hair detailing. The model came out far too glossy (so much for the "super matte" on the can), so it doesn't really show. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]
