| Well, let’s try to explain what is Palaeontology with a true story of my life! Many years ago, when I was a boy, my uncles invite to spend my Summer holydays in it’s mountain house! Some day, I was alone, pick up one bicycle left in front of the door and starte to cycling! In mountains roads we always start going down and not up! Well, speed start increasing a lot, and unexpectedly appeared a sharp curve! I tried to brake but… oops!... no brakes!!! What happened… you already know! 8 or 9 pirouettes far from the road, my body was entirely fall down with open arms and legs! But… suddenly I opened my eyes and saw a very bright light and many white feathers falling like snow flakes! And I started thinking… feathers , angels … paradise … I’m dead!!! But I heard some noise and as I WAS a smart boy, thought: Eh! Angels don’t cackle!!! It should be microraptors or… or… chickens!!! Not sure! Fortunately I was in a chicken-coop but alive! This part of the story continues but it is already very long and bored! Now the palaeontology. Imagine myself died in with open arms and legs, totally covered by feathers! Some millions years later, a yellow faced palaeontologist find my skeleton with feathers evidences around it and the remains of a bicycle! What will he say to scientific community? “Poor cyclist!? No, no, no! He will say: “I’ve found a feathered human species” and call me Homo tetrapterix (4 wingged man)! Don’t you agree that microraptors were ordinary dinos that died due to a chicken’s overdose??? | Thanks people, but it has no funny! you should not laugh at my story. after the fall, I had to return on foot, completely kaput with my clothes full of chicken poop, a broken bicycle in my hands and a huge climb ahead! The worst was that after all this effort, my uncle looked at mi with a tyrannosaurus face and while seeing my pathetic figure, asked me: who the hell do you think you are? and because I think I’m smart, I answered ... a bike-raptor ! :tong: (Papo jokes!) I never received another invite to go on hollydays to the mountain house! And I’m already a man and I still don’t understand why?! @Susanne said: “”So microraptors are really bicycles covered in chicken poop and feathers ?” Congratulations Susanne, you are a really Paleontologist , great conclusion and you’ve found a very nice Archaeopteryx!!! They are from the same family because STS is a family forum! @Sumo said: “Bawk bawk” – Is this a laponic chicken, Sumo??? @Robert: Thanks Robert! @Anna: Congratulations! @Harriette: Thanks! |
